This website exposes the flat earth deception and proves that the earth is globe shaped.
If you’re a flat earther, have you studied the context of the Bible verses which are being cited to proclaim “the Bible says flat earth”?
This book goes through all 240 verses that people like Nathan Roberts cite, to show you the proper context; because if you’re promoting this list, then you’re accountable for the explanations.
It gives a fresh perspective about the ‘firmament‘ of Genesis; the ‘circle‘ of Isaiah 40:22; the clay turned to the ‘seal‘ in Job 38:13-14; the ‘pillars‘ of 1 Samuel 2:8; the sun going forth in his ‘circuit‘ of Psalms 19:6; and much more.
If you know someone who believes that the Scriptures describes a domed, flat earth; it will help you understand their rationale in citing these verses.
If you’re a believer who’s researching the flat earth, this book is critical for you.
If you believe in the heliocentric universe, have you read what Moses, Job, David, and Isaiah; declared about the earth, the sun, and the stars? None of my pastors taught me what Scripture says about astronomy. The cosmology that’s described in Scripture may surprise you.

I made this page about Nathan Roberts because he wrote an article about me on his flatearthdoctrine.com website, titled “DEBUNKING David Nikao, Flat Earth Doctrine DENIER”, saying that the FlatEarthDeception.com “website is geared towards propagating a globe shaped earth with as many unsubstantiated claims as he can, including, scripture used out of context.”
Nathan Roberts wrote a flat earth book called, “The Doctrine of the Shape of the Earth: A Comprehensive Biblical Perspective”; he has a YouTube channel named YourCurvelessEarth; and a website called FlatEarthDoctrine.com.
The irony is that Nathan has taken most of his supposed “240+ Bible verses which proclaim that the earth is flat” out of their proper context, to promote his flat earth beliefs; and I prove them wrong below.
You will be amazed to see the true context of these verses, which do not prove that the earth is flat. It’s sad that flat earthers just take his word for it, instead of being like the Bereans and searching the Scriptures to prove them out.
I wrote this page because Nathan is a zealot, who condemns people who believe that the earth is a globe.
He tore up a globe book in Target before paying for it, which caused the manager to approach him. He does that all in Messiah’s name. Sad story bro!
He stands on street corners, ‘flat smacking,’ proclaiming that the Bible says that the earth is flat.
On 11/22/18 Nathan Roberts posted a video called Fearful and unbelieving (Rev 21:8), FIRMAMENT (Gen. 1:6) on which I commented and rebuked Nathan. He responded in 8 minutes, showing that he didn’t even read through my study, but just told me to ‘repent.’
On his article, Nathan Roberts said, “What he needs, along with every teacher out there who preaches against flat earth doctrine, is a good “correcting” for causing such division around God’s Word and the people who are searching for guidance and he leading them astray.”
This page, and this whole website, serve as a ‘correcting’ for Nathan and all flat earthers, an open rebuke, so that they are without excuse.
The enemy has created a deception all right, but it’s that the globe earth is geocentric. The enemy has misled you into believing the wrong narrative, as to hide the truth about the geocentric globe earth.
I’m praying for Nathan and his wife to come to understand what the Bible is proclaiming, that the globe earth is geocentric; and that he will become a zealot for proclaiming the geocentric globe earth, and exposing the flat earth theory.
Whether that happens or not is up to Nathan and Yah the Heavenly Father, but I’m doing my part.
Nathan Roberts calls himself a Biblical earther, because he proclaims that the Bible says that the earth is flat.
This Bible study will show you that Nathan is correct in saying that the Bible proclaims that the earth is geocentric, and that it’s not moving or spinning; but he is wrong in claiming that Scripture declares that the earth is flat and that it has a glass dome over it.
Exegesis is the exposition or explanation of a text based on a careful, objective analysis. The word exegesis literally means “to lead out of.” That means that the interpreter is led to his conclusions by following the text.
The opposite approach to Scripture is eisegesis, which is the interpretation of a passage based on a subjective, non-analytical reading. The word eisegesis literally means “to lead into,” which means the interpreter injects his own ideas into the text, making it mean whatever he wants.
You will see that Nathan Roberts, and other flat earthers, are clearly taking verses out of context, to proclaim that they are pointing to a flat earth.
Below is a list of 240 verses from Nathan Roberts, who proclaims that they prove that the earth is flat.
You will see that in fact, NONE of them prove that the Earth is flat; and most of them have nothing to do with the shape of the Earth at all.
Nathan’s teachings are in black, my feedback is in red.
If you’re a flat earther, I hope that you will print this study out, as you need to prove out these verses for yourself; and not just take Nathan’s word for it; because you will stand before your righteous judge to account for your beliefs.
Nathan says that Paths are Straight, not curved, which proves that the earth is flat: 1 Samuel 6:12, Psalm 5:8, Psalm 27:11, Isaiah 40:3, Jeremiah 31:9, Matthew 3:3, Mark 1:3, Luke 3:4, John 1:23, Acts 16:11, Acts 21:1, Hebrews 12:13
Proclaiming that all paths are straight, does not prove that the earth is flat. The irony is that if you travel East or West on the flat earth map, your path is not straight, as East and West curve around the North Pole.
These verses are obviously not talking about the design of the Earth. And the fact that they are declaring to make the path straight, tells us that paths are normally not straight.
These verses are simply declaring that they walked directly to a destination, without making any side trips along the way.
“And the kine took the straight way to the way of Bethshemesh, and went along the highway, lowing as they went, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left; and the lords of the Philistines went after them unto the border of Bethshemesh.” 1 Samuel 6:12
“Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis;” Acts 16:11
“And it came to pass, that after we were gotten from them, and had launched, we came with a straight course unto Coos, and the day following unto Rhodes, and from thence unto Patara:” Acts 21:1
Do we really believe that this verse is telling them to make a straight line in the desert? It’s foretelling John the Baptist, who preached repentance to the Jews, preparing the way for our Messiah.
“The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.” Isaiah 40:3
It’s sad that Nathan can’t see that these verses are not talking about a literal path, but he cites them to try to push his beliefs.
“They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.” Jeremiah 31:9
“Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.” Psalm 5:8
“Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.” Psalm 27:11
“For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.” Matthew 3:3
“The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.” Mark 1:3 Really?
“As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.“ Luke 3:4
“He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.” John 1:23
“And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.” Hebrews 12:13
Nathan cites them so that he can claim that there are hundreds of verses which proclaim that the Earth is flat; but he is taking them out of context, as we can clearly see.
Nathan says that 2 Samuel 11:11 in Matthew’s Bible says flat earth.
Matthew’s Bible reads, “And Vrias sayd vnto Dauid: the arck and Israel & Iuda dwell in pauilions: & my Lord Ioab and the seruauntes of my Lorde lye in tentes vpon the flat earthe: and shulde I then go into myne house, to eate and to dryncke & to lye wyth my wyfe? By thy lyfe and as sure as thy soule lyueth, I wyll not do that thyng.”
The King James reads, “And Uriah said unto David, The ark, and Israel, and Judah, abide in tents; and my lord Joab, and the servants of my lord, are encamped in the open fields; shall I then go into mine house, to eat and to drink, and to lie with my wife? as thou livest, and as thy soul liveth, I will not do this thing.”
Is the context of the verses about defining the shape of the earth? No! It’s simply proclaiming that they encamped in tents in open fields. The fact that it had to clarify that the area was flat, tells you that all of the land is not flat.
Nathan is clearly taking 2 Samuel 11:11 out of its proper context.
Nathan says that Flat Earth Prophecy: Isaiah 40:4-5 correlates with Revelation 1:7
“Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.”
The previous verse, Isaiah 30:3 “The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God” is pointing to John the Baptist, “For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.” Matthew 3:3
Nathan is citing a verse that is pointing to John the Baptist preparing the way of Messiah, and he is proclaiming that it points to a flat earth. That is so wrong!
Nathan says that the Earth has Ends, which proves that the earth is flat: Deuteronomy 28:49, Deuteronomy 28:64, Deuteronomy 33:17, 1 Samuel 2:10, Job 37:3, Job 38:13, Psalm 46:9, Psalm 48:10, Psalm 59:13, Psalm 61:2, Psalm 65:5, Psalm 67:7, Psalm 72:8, Psalm 98:3, Psalm 135:7, Proverbs 8:29, Proverbs 17:24, Proverbs 30:4, Isaiah 5:26, Isaiah 26:15, Isaiah 40:28, Isaiah 41:5, Isaiah 41:9, Isaiah 42:10, Isaiah 43:6, Isaiah 45:22, Isaiah 48:20, Isaiah 49:6, Isaiah 52:10, Jeremiah 10:13, Jeremiah 16:19, Jeremiah 25:31, Jeremiah 25:33, Jeremiah 51:16, Daniel 4:22, Micah 5:4, Zechariah 9:10, Matthew 12:42, Luke 11:31, Acts 13:47
Flat earthers will tell you that a flat earth has ends, at the ice wall; whereas a globe earth doesn’t have any ends. The irony of course is that flat earthers have no photos of the supposed end of the Earth or where the supposed glass dome meets the land.
The word ‘ends’ can mean farthest and uttermost. So let’s look at these verses and see if they are pointing to the end of the flat earth, the ice wall.
Deuteronomy 28:49 “The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;”
This verses foretold that the Babylonians and Romans would come from afar, to desolate Jerusalem. Did they come from the ice wall? No!
Deuteronomy 28:64 “And the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.”
This verses is pointing to the Father scattering the Israelites from one end of the earth even until the other. Did He put some on one side of the ice wall, and others on the other side of the Earth on the ice wall? No!
Deuteronomy 33:17, “with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth:”
It’s describing the Father causing the Israelites to push the Canaanites to the end of the land of Canaan; not to some ice wall.
1 Samuel 2:10, “The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: the LORD shall judge the ends of the earth”
Are we to believe that the Father judging the ice wall of the flat earth?
Job 38:13 “That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?”
Are we to believe that the wicked people were shaken out of the ends of the ‘flat’ earth, out of the ice ring? That’s ridiculous!
Psalm 46:9 “He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.”
This verse talks about Elohim “making wars to cease unto the end of the earth.” If the earth was flat, the wars would have to end at the ice wall; so it makes the statement nonsensical. It’s simply saying that it was a time of peace in the war, with no wars going on.
Psalm 61:2, “From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”
Is David crying from the end of the (flat) earth, from the ice wall? That’s absurd.
Psalm 67:7 “God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.”
Does the end of the flat earth, the ice wall, fear Elohim?
Psalm 98:3 “He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.”
Has the ends of the (flat) earth, the ice wall, seen the salvation of Elohim?
Proverbs 8:29 “When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth.”
This verse doesn’t says that the earth has ends.
Proverbs 17:24 “Wisdom is before him that hath understanding; but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.”
Are the eyes of a fool at the ends of the flat earth, at the ends of the ice wall?
Isaiah 5:26 “And he will lift up an ensign to the nations from far, and will hiss unto them from the end of the earth: and, behold, they shall come with speed swiftly.”
Is Elohim going to hiss unto the nations from the end of the flat earth, the ice wall? No! He was saying that He was going to send the Babylonians against His people, for disobeying Him.
Isaiah 26:15 Thou hast increased the nation, O LORD, thou hast increased the nation: thou art glorified: thou hadst removed it far unto all the ends of the earth.”
Is Elohim going to send His people to the end of the flat earth, the ice wall? No!
Isaiah 41:5 The isles saw it, and feared; the ends of the earth were afraid, drew near, and came.”
Were the ends of the flat earth, the ice wall, afraid? No!
Isaiah 41:9 “Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.”
Is Elohim going to take the Israelites from the end of the flat earth, the ice wall? No!
Isaiah 43:5-6 points to the House of Israel being gathered from the ends of the earth; east, west, north and south.
“Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west; I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth.”
The “ends of the earth” are not the supposed ice wall that encircles the flat earth, or where the supposed glass dome meets the earth.
Isaiah 45:22 “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.”
Is Elohim telling the ends of the flat earth, the ice wall, to look to Him and be saved? No!
Isaiah 48:20 “Go ye forth of Babylon, flee ye from the Chaldeans, with a voice of singing declare ye, tell this, utter it even to the end of the earth; say ye, The LORD hath redeemed his servant Jacob.”
Is Elohim the Jews to flee Babylon and go to the ends of the flat earth, the ice wall? No!
Isaiah 52:10 “The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God”
Is the ends of the flat earth, the ice wall, going to see the salvation of Elohim? No!
Jeremiah 16:19 “O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.”
Are the gentiles going to come from the end of the flat earth, the ice wall? No!
Jeremiah 25:31“A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD.”
Will Elohim send a noise (of wars) from the end of the flat earth, the ice wall? No!
Jeremiah 25:33 “And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.”
Were there slain laid out on the earth from one end of the flat earth ice wall to the other end of the flat earth ice wall? No! It’s talking about the bodies of slain Jews lying across the land of Judea. The word earth is pointing to a particular area, a country, not the whole world.
Daniel 4:22 “It is thou, O king, that art grown and become strong: for thy greatness is grown, and reacheth unto heaven, and thy dominion to the end of the earth.”
It’s pointing to the dominion of King Nebuchadnezzar, not to the end of the flat earth, the ice wall.
Matthew 12:42 / Luke 11:31 “The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.”
The queen of the south didn’t come from the uttermost part of the flat earth, the ice wall. She was from Sheba, which was a city and province of Arabia Felix.
Do you see how ridiculous these examples are? They’re not pointing to the edge of the supposed flat Earth, to an ice wall. Nathan has taken them out of their proper context, to falsely declare that they point to a flat earth.
Nathan says that high altitude perspectives prove the flat earth: Daniel 4:11, Daniel 4:20, Matthew 4:8
Daniel 4:11 “The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth:”
Daniel 4:20 “The tree that thou sawest, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto the heaven, and the sight thereof to all the earth;”
This is just another example of Nathan Roberts taking a verse completely out of context to try to prove his beliefs. This passage is not talking about the design of the earth or the place that is the center.
The ‘tree in the midst of the earth‘ that Daniel was describing was King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, who reigned over the kingdoms of the earth.
He was humbled more than any man, and made to eat grass as the cattle of the field, which at the end of his punishment, caused him to praise his Creator.
How flat-earthers don’t bother to read the rest of the chapter, I cannot understand. Verses 20-22 tell you who the tree represents, King Nebuchadnezzar.
The tree that thou sawest, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to all the earth; whose leaves were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was food for all; under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and upon whose branches the birds of the heavens had their habitation: it is thou, O king, that art grown and become strong; for thy greatness is grown, and reacheth unto heaven, and thy dominion to the end of the earth.
And besides that, everyone on the flat earth can’t see the sun, which is supposedly 3,000 miles high, so how would they all see a giant tree?
Matthew 4:8 “Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;”
When Satan took Messiah to a high mountain and showed Him all of the kingdoms of the world; there is no mountain on Earth which can see all of the kingdoms of the world, so it doesn’t prove that the Earth is flat.
He was either pointing to that region of the Earth, Judea and the surrounding nations, which were controlled by the mighty Roman Empire. Or he was able to give a kind of visionary representation of all of the nations of the Earth.
Nathan says that the Earth has corners, which proves that the earth is flat: Jeremiah 9:26, Jeremiah 25:23, Isaiah 11:12, Ezekiel 7:2, Ecclesiastes 1:6, Revelation 7:1, Revelation 20:8
Flat earthers cite Isaiah 40:22 to proclaim that the flat earth is a circle, “the circle of the earth,” which of course has no corners.
So to make the following verses work, they add corners to the outside edges, which are outside of the dome. That makes no sense and it negates their point about Isaiah 40:22. You can’t have it both ways!
Let’s see what the verses are really proclaiming.
Jeremiah 9:26 “Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that are in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness: for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.“
Are we to believe that Elohim is going to punish people who live in the corners of the flat earth, which is outside of the dome? No!
Jeremiah 25:23 “Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that are in the utmost corners,”
Are we to believe that these people live in the corners of the flat earth, which is outside of the dome? No!
This verse is simply saying that these people were from distant places, such as Edom, Arabia and Mesopotamia.
“And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.” Isaiah 11:12
Were the outcasts of Israel and the dispersed of Judah living outside the dome, on the corners of the flat earth? No, that is absurd!
Isaiah 11:11 tells you where the people had been scattered: “And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.”
Psalm 107:2-3 tells us that the redeemed saints are gathered from the four corners of the earth; east, west, north and south. “Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy; And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.”
Zechariah 8:7 points to the saints being saved from the east and the west. “Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country;”
In Nathan Roberts “Flat Earth Where are the 4 corners of the earth on the Gleason map?” video, he cited Isaiah 11:12 as an example of a verse that points to four corners, and he said that “when looking at this word “corners” you can come up with the word “quarter.”
Hebrew word 3671 kanaph; an edge or extremity; specifically (of a bird or army) a wing, (of a garment or bed-clothing) a flap, (of the earth) a quarter, (of a building) a pinnacle:—+ bird, border, corner, end, feather(-ed), X flying, + (one an-)other, overspreading, X quarters, skirt, X sort, uttermost part, wing).
The problem is that the only Bible version that uses the word “quarters” is the NIV, and it’s not a good word-for-word translation.
We you look at Nathan’s explanation of the four quarters, you see that the four corners meet at the North Pole. Are we to believe that the remnant are to be gathered from the area of the North Pole?
Isaiah 11:11 tells you where the remnant of Elohim’s people had been scattered, and they were not from areas that were near the North Pole.
“And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.”
So even though his explanation creates four corners on the flat earth map, it’s an invalid explanation. The obvious explanation is that the remnant of Elohim were dispersed throughout the region; so they were east, west, north and south; the four directions.
Is it not obvious that the four corners are referring the four primary directions; east, west, north and south?
Note: To proclaim that the flat earth has four corners, most flat earthers use supposed flat earth maps (which are really, north-polar azimuthal equidistant projection maps of the globe earth), which have the four corners on the outside of the dome.
Either way, the Israelites aren’t gathered from four corners which are outside of the dome, or from the four corners which meet at the North Pole.
Ezekiel 7:2 says “Also, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD unto the land of Israel; An end, the end is come upon the four corners of the land.”
It’s pointing to the land of Judea and the destruction of it, as Elohim’s judgment against them. So it’s simply declaring that judgment is coming to the whole land of Judea.
Ecclesiastes 1:6 “The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually, and the wind returneth again according to his circuits.”
This verses doesn’t mention four corners, just the directions south and north; so I’m not sure why Nathan listed it.
But look at what it is proclaiming:
Revelation 7:1 “And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.”
Are we to believe that the angels are holding back the four winds from the four corners of the flat earth, which is outside of the dome? No!
Are we to believe that the angels are holding back the four winds from the four corners of the North Pole? No!
Revelation 20:8 “And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.”
Are we supposed to believe that the armies of Gog and Magog are coming from the four corners of the flat earth, which is outside of the dome? No!
Are we supposed to believe that the armies of Gog and Magog are coming from the North Pole? No!
These verses about the earth having four corners most certainly don’t point to a flat earth with corners!
Nathan cites Isaiah 40:22 to say that the world circle (chuwg) points to a circular flat earth, not a ball.
It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:
The ‘he’ is our Creator, who is not sitting upon a circular flat earth; so right there we can see that the circle is not describing the earth. It reveals that his viewpoint makes people look like grasshoppers, so He is high above the earth; once again proving that he’s not sitting on the circle of the flat earth.
The “circle of the earth” is the ecliptic, which Elohim created when He stretched out the heavens as a curtain, and spread the stars out as a tabernacle for Him to dwell in. He is sitting in the heavens, where the circle of the ecliptic displays the narrative of redemption through the constellations.
The word for ‘tent‘ can be rendered as ‘tabernacle‘; so it’s saying that our Creator is sitting in the tabernacle of the stars which He created.
The twelve constellations in the circle of the mazzaroth on the ecliptic circle have proclaimed His plan of redemption, the Gospel, from the beginning.
Here’s what Elohim is pointing to, the Gospel in the Stars; which the enemy has perverted with explanations of pagan gods.
- Virgo represents the seed of the woman, Messiah the Incarnate Son.
- Libra represents the required price, Messiah the Redeemer.
- Scorpio represents the mortal conflict, Messiah the Sufferer.
- Sagittarius represents the final triumph, Messiah the Conqueror.
- Capricorn represents life out of death, Messiah the Sacrifice.
- Aquarius represents blessing out of victory, Messiah the Living Water.
- Pisces represents deliverance out of bondage, Messiah the Liberator.
- Aries represents glory out of humiliation, Messiah the Crowned Lamb.
- Taurus represents His glorious coming, Messiah the Judge.
- Gemini represents His rule on Earth, Messiah the King.
- Cancer represents His possessions held secure, Messiah the Protector.
- Leo represents His enemies destroyed, Messiah the Victor.
Let’s back up to get the context of the verse. Elohim is declaring the glory of His creation.
And to whom would you liken Ěl? And what likeness would you compare to Him? The workman moulds a graven image, and the goldsmith overspreads it with gold, and the silversmith casts silver chains. Isaiah 40:18-19
Elohim is pointing to the circle of stars, which have declared the Gospel message from creation; which are more glorious than any creation of man.
Did you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been declared to you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth? Isaiah 40:21
Do you bring out the constellations (mazzaroth) in its season? Or do you lead the Bear with its sons. Job 38:32
We see that Elohim tells Isaiah to look up to the circle of the stars (host) of the mazzaroth.
Lift up your eyes on high and see. Who has created these? He who is bringing out their host by number, He calls them all by name, by the greatness of His might and the strength of His power – not one is missing. Isaiah 40:26
“He appoints the number of the stars, He gives names to all of them.” Psalm 147:4
Here are a few examples of the stars being named:
- Spica means the Branch.
- Arcturus means He comes.
- Pollux means who comes to suffer.
- Antares means the wounded.
- Sirius means the Prince.
- Elnath means slain.
- Procyon means the Redeemer.
- Vega means He shall be exalted.
- Regulus means regal, the King Star.
The same Hebrew word, chuwg, is used in Job 22:14 to describe the circuit of heaven, proclaiming again that Elohim walks on the circle of heaven, not on the circle of a flat earth.
“Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit (chuwg) of heaven.”
In Psalm 19:1-6, David described the sun travelling through the circuit (the line of the ecliptic), through the constellations of the mazzaroth, which are a tabernacle (tent); proclaiming the Gospel message.
“The heavens are proclaiming the esteem of Ěl; And the expanse is declaring the work of His hand. Day to day pours forth speech, And night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, and there are no words, Their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world. In them He set up a tent for the sun, And it is like a bridegroom coming out of his room, It rejoices like a strong man to run the path. Its rising is from one end of the heavens, And its circuit to the other end; And naught is hidden from its heat.”
So we can clearly see that when Elohim is referring to the circle of the mazzaroth which acts as a constant witness to those on earth, about His great power, and about His redemption plan; and the circle of Isaiah 40:22 is not about the shape of the earth. In what pattern do the stars travel? Is it not in a circle?
Here’s a summary meme, which gives a concise explanation of Isaiah 40:22, Psalm 19:1-6 and Job 22:14, pointing to the ecliptic circle:
Here’s a Jewish Mosaic which shows the Sun of Righteousness holding a globe earth; and it is surrounded by the 12 constellations of the mazzaroth, the circle of stars which Isaiah was told to look up to.
Satan caused the pagans to pervert the story of the constellations and the sun god, but Messiah is the Sun of Righteousness (Malachi 4:2); and the 12 constellations proclaim the story of our redemption by Messiah.
Nathan says that Earth is measured with a line, not a curve, which proves that the earth is flat: Job 38:4-5
Job 38:4-5 “Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?“
The word for line is Hebrew 6957 qav: from 6960 (compare 6961); a cord (as connecting), especially for measuring; figuratively, a rule.
Hebrew 6961 qaveh; a (measuring) cord (as if for binding):—line.
A circle is made out of a curved line, as not all lines are straight, like Nathan implies. Can we not wrap a measuring cord around a basketball, to measure its circumference? Yes!
Websters 1828 Dictionary for the word circumerence is : The line that bounds a circle; the exterior line of a circular body; the whole exterior surface of a round body; a periphery.
The word for stretched is Hebrew 5186, which can mean to bend away and to bow:
to stretch or spread out; by implication, to bend away (including moral deflection); used in a great variety of application (as follows):—+ afternoon, apply, bow (down, – ing), carry aside, decline, deliver, extend, go down, be gone, incline, intend, lay, let down, offer, outstretched, overthrown, pervert, pitch, prolong, put away, shew, spread (out), stretch (forth, out), take (aside), turn (aside, away), wrest, cause to yield.
Job 38:6 says “Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;”
So Job 38:4-5 doesn’t prove a flat earth or globe earth.
Job 38:18 simply points to the width of the earth. The Hebrew word is rachab, which means: a width:—breadth, broad place. Both the flat earth and globe earth have a width.
Have you understood the breadth of the earth? Declare, if you know it all.
Nathan’s statement that lines are straight and can’t be curved, is ignorant.
Nathan says that extremely large areas of land are FLAT, with no curvature, which proves that the earth is flat: Ezekiel 45:1
“Moreover, when ye shall divide by lot the land for inheritance, ye shall offer an oblation unto the LORD, an holy portion of the land: the length shall be the length of five and twenty thousand reeds, and the breadth shall be ten thousand. This shall be holy in all the borders thereof round about.”
Can we not measure these distances on a globe earth? Yes! So it’s illogical for Nathan to declare that it’s saying that the earth is flat, with no curvature.
Ezekiel 45:1 doesn’t prove a flat earth or globe earth.
Nathan says that a “PLAIN” can’t exist on a ball, only a “FLAT/LEVEL” surface, of which, Yeshua (aka Jesus) stood upon, which proves that the earth is flat: Luke 6:17
Luke 6:17 “And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;”
The fact that the verses declares that Messiah came down, tells you that it’s not declaring that the earth is flat. It’s simply saying that Jerusalem sits up on a hill, so when Messiah left, he descended down to a place that was lower in altitude, to an open plain.
It’s amazing how desperate Nathan is to find verses which supposedly proclaim that the earth is flat; but we can clearly see that he’s misrepresenting the context of the text.
Nathan says that the Earth has Pillars, and hangs on nothing, which proves that the earth is flat: 1 Samuel 2:8, Job 9:6, Job 26:7, Psalm 75:3
First, let’s apply logic. When constructing a large structure, a foundation is created and then the pillars are mounted on top of the foundation, to support something above them.
Does it make any sense to place pillars under the flat earth, since the pillars would not be mounted on top of a foundation, but rather would sit in open space? No.
The word ‘pillars‘ in 1 Samuel 2:8 is referring to leaders of the earth, not physical pillars that support the flat earth. If someone says that a person is a ‘pillar in the community’, it means that they’re a leader.
1 Samuel 2:8 “He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD’S, and he hath set the world upon them.”
The first part of 1 Samuel 2:8 tells you that the latter part is not talking about the creation/design of the earth. Rather it is talking about the leaders of the earth, the pillars, who Elohim controls to uphold civil order in the world.
The previous verse is talking about raising people up in status, and making them rich leaders.
“The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up.” 1 Samuel 2:7
The next few verses are talking about the saints being preserve from the wicked, and the adversaries of the lord being broken to pieces.
Job 9:6 “Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.”
The same Hebrew word, 5982 ammuwd, is used in verses which point to a pillar of fire, a pillar of the cloud, and the pillars of heaven; so there is no proof that there are actual pillars underneath of a flat earth.
If the earth is shaken out of her place, would the leaders of the earth not tremble?
Job 26:7 “He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.”
That doesn’t prove that the earth is flat or a globe. It just means that it’s held in place.
Psalm 75:3 “The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah.”
It’s talking about people, the inhabitants, the righteous; who will be preserved, though the earth is laid waste. Once again, pillars is pointing to leaders.
Revelation 3:12 “Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.”
This verse is saying that the overcomers will be made leaders, pillars, in heaven.
Jeremiah 1:18 says the Jeremiah is a pillar/leader, “For, behold, I have made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land.”
Galatians 2:9 shows that leaders are symbolized as pillars, “And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.”
1 Timothy 3:15 says that the church of Elohim is a pillar, “But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.”
So we can clearly see that none of these verses that Nathan cited are talking about the physical design of the earth, but to the leaders of the earth, whom Elohim controls.
Rob Skiba cites Job 26:11 “The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his reproof.” But that verses is not talking about the pillars of the earth, but the pillars of heaven.
Nathan says that Hell is a bottomless pit at the heart of the [flat disc] earth, which proves that the earth is flat: Revelation 9:1-2, 11, Revelation 11:7, Revelation 17:8, Revelation 20:1, Revelation 20:3
Revelation 9:1-2 “And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.”
The fifth trumpet is pointing to the rise of Islam from the bottomless pit of Satan’s deceptions, which has deceived many people. It’s not describing a real pit of the earth. Read Revelation 9 – 5th Trumpet
Revelation 11:7 “And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.”
Revelation 17:8 “The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.”
Revelation 20:1,3“And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.”
The “bottomless pit” is referring to an abyss, Satan’s dwelling place. These verses are not proclaiming that the earth is flat or a globe.
Nathan says that the Earth was created before the Sun, which proves that the earth is flat: Genesis 1:1-19
The Earth being created before the sun may point to a geocentric Earth, but it does not prove that the Earth is flat.
Nathan says that the universe is Complete, NOT ever expanding, which proves that the earth is flat: Genesis 2:1, “Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.”
The text simply says that the creation of the heavens was finished, it doesn’t declare that the universe hasn’t been expanding since that time. That is Nathan’s eisegesis, because it fits with the domed earth theory.
Nathan says that Earth measurements are unknown, proving that it’s flat: Job 38:4-5, Job 38:18, Jeremiah 31:37, Proverbs 25:3
Job 38:4-5 “Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?”
It’s not declaring that the Earth can’t be measured; but it is pointing to the One who did measure it all out during its creation.
Job 38:18 “Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all.”
It’s declaring that Job, and no man, knows all of the facts of the created earth.
Jeremiah 31:37 “Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD.”
It’s about the heavens being measured, not Earth.
Proverbs 25:3 “The heaven for height, and the earth for depth, and the heart of kings is unsearchable.”
It says that the height of heaven is unsearchable. On the flat domed Earth, the height of the heaven is limited; but not on the globe Earth.
These verses about the measurements of the earth and heavens being unknown, doesn’t prove that the earth is flat or a globe.
Nathan says that the Earth is a Disk/Circle, not a ball: Isaiah 40:22, Job 38:13-14
Isaiah 40:22 is pointing up to the circle of the ecliptic, on which the constellations travel around the globe earth; to tell the story of our redemption. The Creator does not sit on the flat earth; so the circle is not pointing to the flat earth, but to the ecliptic in the heavens, which are a tabernacle of stars, on which the Creator sits. See the longer explanation above.
Proverbs 8:27 “When He prepared the heavens, I was there, When He inscribed (set) a circle on the face of the deep,” describes the waters of the earth, which are held in place, held down against the earth.
Job 38:13-14 “That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it? It is turned as clay to the seal; and they stand as a garment.”
So what’s the context of the verse?
It’s declaring that the Earth is changed, it is transformed, as the sun removes the darkness. The context is the light hitting the earth, as Job 38:12 is talking about the morning and dawn knowing its place.
“Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place;”
Job 38:15 is speaking about light being withheld.
“And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the high arm shall be broken.”
Job 38:19-20 is talking about darkness knowing its place, it’s boundary.
“Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof, That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof?”
How does dawn know it’s place? How does darkness know it’s place, it’s boundary? The curve of the earth limits where the sun shines, it creates a delineation.
90 minutes after the sun goes down on the globe earth, the rays are hidden behind the earth, so that it is dark.
Civil twilight occurs when the Sun is less than 6 degrees below the horizon. In the morning, civil twilight begins when the Sun is 6 degrees below the horizon and ends at sunrise. In the evening, it begins at sunset and ends when the Sun reaches 6 degrees below the horizon.
Civil dawn is the moment when the geometric center of the Sun is 6 degrees below the horizon in the morning.
Civil dusk is the moment when the geometrical center of the Sun is 6 degrees below the horizon in the evening.
Astronomical twilight occurs when the Sun is between 12 degrees and 18 degrees below the horizon.
Astronomical dawn is the time when the geometric center of the Sun is at 18 degrees below the horizon. Before this time, the sky is absolutely dark.
Astronomical dusk is the instant when the geographical center of the Sun is at 18 degrees below the horizon. After this point, the sky is no longer illuminated.
There is nothing on the flat earth to create this boundary, no definite thing that stops the sun from shining on certain parts of the world, no delineation where darkness rules the night.
Job 38 is simply proclaiming that the wicked like the darkness, but as the sun moves, it’s light exposes them.
Nathan says that the Earth is measured with a line, not a curve: Job 38:4-5
The word ‘line’ is pointing to a cord that is used for measuring. A cord can be placed on a curved surface, to measure the total distance. A line is not always straight.
Nathan says that waters are straight, not curved, which proves that the earth is flat: Job 37:10
Job 37:10 “By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.”
The previous verses in Job proclaimed cold winds coming out of the North, “Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.”
The word ‘frost’ can be rendered as ‘ice’; 7140 qerach; ice; hence, hail; by resemblance, rock crystal:—crystal, frost, ice.
The verses is proclaiming that by Elohim’s breath, the waters become solid ice, instead of moving with the winds; so they became ‘straightened’.
Once again, Nathan is taking the meaning of the verse out of context, as it is not declaring that all water on Earth is straight.
Nathan says that earthquakes shake the Earth, and it does not move, proving it’s flat: 2 Samuel 22:8, Isaiah 13:13, Revelation 6:12-13
2 Samuel 22:8 “Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.”
It’s obviously poetic language, as the foundations of heaven didn’t really move or shake. The context of the verses is the deliverance of his servant, and the destruction of his enemies.
Isaiah 13:13 “Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.”
The context of the verse is not talking about the physical earth, it’s using symbolic language. Isaiah 13:17 tells us that it’s pointing to the political upheaval of the Medes being sent by Elohim to attack the Babylonians.
Revelation 6:12-13 “And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.”
Earthquakes in the prophecy represent great political upheavals. The earthquake of Revelation 6:12-13 was pointing to political upheaval in the declaring Roman Empire; as a result of the first five seal judgments.
Eastern Emperor Constantine defeated Diocletian’s army in 312 A.D., which ended the persecutions. Diocletian (the Sun) was so panic stricken, he died insane. Constantine defeated emperors Maxentius and Licinius to become sole ruler of both west and east by 324 A.D. The Roman leaders (stars) fell and their power receded as a scroll. The mountains and islands that were moved out of place, were the countries and people that were affected by this political change. Read Revelation 6 – 6th Seal Earthquake
None of the verses that Nathan cited aren’t even pointing to the physical earth, but rather are using symbolism.
Nathan says Be still, and know that I am God”: Psalm 46:10
I think that Nathan cites this verse, as he uses the flat earth topic for flat smacking, proclaiming the Gospel.
But this verses does not proclaim that the earth is flat, so it shouldn’t be on his list of verses. Proclaiming the Gospel is awesome, but if you’re going to mislead people into a false belief system about the earth being flat, then you’re preaching a false message.
Nathan says that the Earth has Pillars, and hangs on nothing, which proves that the earth is flat: 1 Samuel 2:8, Job 9:6, Job 26:7, Psalm 75:3, 2 Peter 3:5
Flat earthers proclaim that the flat earth is mounted on top of pillars, which makes no sense, because in architecture, pillars set on top of the building foundation. What are the supporting pillars of the flat earth sitting on? Nothing!
The first part of 1 Samuel 2:8 tells you that the latter part is not talking about the creation/design of the earth.
Rather it is talking about the leaders of the earth, the pillars, who Elohim controls to uphold civil order in the world.
The previous verse is talking about raising people up in status, and bringing them down.
“The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up.” 1 Samuel 2:7
“Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.” Job 9:6
“He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.” Job 26:7
The north pole is the top of the globe Earth, so it makes sense to mention it, as it’s the logical place to hang a ball (such as a Christmas ornament) from. The earth hanging from nothing does not prove that it’s flat.
“The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah.” Psalm 75:3.
Was the earth really dissolved? No! It’s speaking of judgment on a wicked world, and the righteous men (pillars) being held up by the Father.
“For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:” 2 Peter 3:5
I’m not sure how this proves that the Earth is flat, or even a globe for that matter.
Nathan says that the Earth has a Face (a geometrical flat surface), proving that it’s flat: Genesis 1:29, Genesis 4:14, Genesis 6:1, Genesis 6:7, Genesis 7:3, Genesis 7:4, Genesis 8:9, Genesis 11:8, Genesis 11:9, Genesis 41:56, Exodus 32:12, Exodus 33:16, Numbers 12:3, Deuteronomy 6:15, Deuteronomy 7:6, 1 Samuel 20:15, 1 Kings 13:34, Job 37:12, Psalm 104:30, Jeremiah 25:26, Jeremiah 28:16, Ezekiel 34:6, Ezekiel 38:20, Ezekiel 39:14, Amos 9:6, Amos 9:8, Zechariah 5:3
Nowhere in Scripture does it define a face as a geometric flat surface, that is Nathan’s interpretation.
A ball has a face too. The face of the moon is the side that is facing us. So these verses do not prove that the Earth is flat.
The Hebrew word for ‘face’ in Genesis 1:29 is 6440 paniym – plural (but always as singular) of an unused noun (paneh {paw-neh’}; from 6437); the face (as the part that turns). It is used 1890 times, and has many different meanings.
Websters 1828 Dictionary, which is based on the King James Bible, defines face as: 1. In a general sense, the surface of a thing, or the side which presents itself to the view of a spectator; as the face of the earth; the face of the waters.
In regard to references to the earth, the word paniym is pointing to the surface of the earth.
“And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face (surface) of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” Genesis 1:2
“And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open(paniym) firmament of heaven.” Genesis 1:20
“But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face (paniym) of the ground.” Genesis 2:6
“To the end that the children of Israel may bring their sacrifices, which they offer in the open field (paniym), even that they may bring them unto the LORD, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest, and offer them for peace offerings unto the LORD.” Leviticus 17:5
So these verses which Nathan Roberts cites, which say “face of the earth,” are not proclaiming that the earth is flat or a globe.
Nathan says that waters have a face (a geometrical flat surface), proving that it’s flat: Genesis 1:2, Genesis 7:18, Job 38:30
In reference to Genesis 1:2, have you ever heard of the abyssal plains? Abyssal plains cover more than 50% of earth. Also they are some of the flattest smoothest areas on earth. It is impossible for the abyssal plains to cover more than 50% of the earth and for the earth to be a sphere, perhaps, the earth is “flat?”
An abyssal plain is an underwater plain on the deep ocean floor. They are among the flattest, smoothest, and least explored regions on Earth. It’s not implying that the earth is flat, it’s simply referring of geography of the oceans.
“And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” Genesis 1:2
The word ‘face‘ is simply pointing to the ‘surface‘ of the water, so it doesn’t prove that the Earth is flat.
“And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.” Genesis 7:18
It’s clearly proclaiming that the ark is on the surface, on the top, on the face, of the waters!
“The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.” Job 38:30
It’s saying that the surface of the water is frozen, with ice that’s as hard as stone!
The verses do not proclaim that the water surface is flat, that’s Nathan’s wrong interpretation.
Nathan says that sky has a Face (a geometrical flat surface): Matthew 16:3, Luke 12:56
Matthew 16:3 “And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?”
Luke 12:56 “Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?”
Those verses are simply pointing to the appearance of the sky, to forecast the weather. They don’t prove that the earth is flat!
Nathan says that the Firmament/Dome/Vaulted Dome, and expanse created thereby and upon where God’s throne exists: Genesis 1:6-8, Genesis 1:14-18, Genesis 1:20, Genesis 7:11, Genesis 8:2, Job 9:8, Job 26:7, Job 28:24, Job 37:3, Job 37:18, Psalm 19:1, Psalm 150:1, Proverbs 8:28, Isaiah 40:22, Isaiah 42:5, Isaiah 44:24, Isaiah 45:12, Isaiah 48:13, Ezekiel 1:22-26, Ezekiel 10:1, Daniel 12:3, Amos 9:6, Acts 7:56, Revelation 4:6, Revelation 6:14
Genesis 1:6-8 “And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.”
Nathan adds: With understanding the properties of water, it requires a physically hardened substance to keep it contained. Thus, a dome/firmament is not only logic, but is within the proper context of scripture.
This statement is absurd, because there is no “containment”, no physically hardened substance, over the waters of lakes and oceans.
Genesis 1:8 clearly gives us the definition of the word “firmament” = “heaven”. “And God called the firmament Heaven.”
The Hebrew word for heaven is 8064 shamayim: The sky in which the clouds move, and where the celestial bodies revolve.
The Hebrew word for firmament is raqiya` from 7554; properly, an expanse, i.e. the firmament or (apparently) visible arch of the sky:—firmament.
They point to the root word raqa, but it is simply describing something that is spread out, an expanse.
The Scriptures (ISR98) is a better translation than the King James, and it uses the word ‘expanse’ instead of ‘firmament’.
And Elohim said, “Let an expanse come to be in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.” And Elohim made the expanse, and separated the waters which were under the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse. And it came to be so. And Elohim called the expanse ‘heavens.’ And there came to be evening and there came to be morning, the second day.
When the earth was formed there was no atmosphere, no protection. So the heavens were created, the protecting atmosphere was stretched out, which provides an expansive area for the clouds and the birds of the air.
Genesis 1:14-18 “And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:”
The Hebrew word that was chosen is not saying that the lights would be “inside” or “under” the firmament, it’s saying it’s “in” the actual firmament itself. Are lights in the glass dome itself? No! They’re in the expanse of heaven.
Once again the ISR98 renders the proper word, expanse, in Genesis 1:14-18.
Let lights come to be in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and appointed times, and for days and years, and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth. And it came to be so. And Elohim made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night, and the stars. And Elohim set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And Elohim saw that it was good.
Genesis 1:20 “And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.”
Are the birds in the glass dome itself? No! There are in the “open firmament” not a closed dome. If firmament was pointing to a glass dome, then it would read “and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open glass dome of heaven. How can a glass down be open?
The ‘heavens’ have three basic levels:
The first level refers to the sky, the protected expanse above the earth. This is where the birds fly in the expanse of heaven (the firmament), and the clouds exist which store water.
The second level refers to the night skies or what we would call outer space; in which the stars and constellations and planets exist.
The third heaven refers to the unseen heaven where Elohim dwells.
Genesis 7:11 “In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.”
Are we to believe that a glass dome has windows? Seriously?
It’s simply saying that the waters from the depths of the earth overflowed and also that the clouds poured down.
Malachi 3:10 uses the same Hebrew word for “windows.” “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”
Genesis 8:2 “The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;”
If Genesis 7:11 was pointing to literal windows on a glass dome being opened, then we would think that this verse would say that they were “closed” But it uses the word “stopped” which simply says that it stopped raining.
Job 9:8 “Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.”
The Hebrew word for “spreadeth” is 5186. natah: to stretch or spread out; by implication, to bend away (including moral deflection); used in a great variety of application (as follows):—+ afternoon, apply, bow (down, – ing), carry aside, decline, deliver, extend, go down, be gone, incline, intend, lay, let down, offer, outstretched, overthrown, pervert, pitch, prolong, put away, shew, spread (out), stretch (forth, out), take (aside), turn (aside, away), wrest, cause to yield.
That is the same concept of we saw in Genesis 1:7, where the “firmament,” the heavens, were spread out.
Job 26:7 “He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.”
Nathan adds: From the “north” is being “stretched” over what empty place?
North seems to be pointing to the north pole / the north star Polaris; which can apply to a flat earth or a globe earth.
Job 26:10, “He hath compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end.”
They proclaim that this is describing the ice ring that surrounds the flat earth, which serves to keep the waters in place.
Job 26:8 tells us that “the waters” that are being referred to are not the seas and oceans, but the waters of heaven in the clouds.
“He bindeth up the waters in his thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them.”
At one time the entire earth enjoyed a warm tropical environment and there was enhanced oxygen in the atmosphere. Organisms grew larger and lived longer as a result.
Many creationists have attributed this to a water vapor canopy that was created by Elohim on the second day, the “waters above the firmament” (Genesis 1:7). This theory holds that a “vast blanket of invisible water vapor, translucent to the light of the stars but productive of a marvelous greenhouse effect which maintained mild temperatures from pole to pole, thus preventing air-mass circulation and the resultant rainfall (Genesis 2:5).
It would certainly have had the further effect of efficiently filtering harmful radiation from space, markedly reducing the rate of somatic mutations in living cells, and, as a consequence, drastically decreasing the rate of aging and death.”(Morris, Henry, Scientific Creationism, 1984, p. 211.)
Citing evidence of denser atmosphere in the past, Morris postulated that this vapor layer could have dramatically increased the atmospheric pressure on the surface of the early earth, again contributing to a healthier environment (like a natural hyperbaric chamber).
Later, the canopy would have collapsed in the form of rain (the “windows of heaven” in Genesis 7:11), contributing to the Flood water, and resulting in the dramatic drop-off in longevity after the deluge.
Now we can see how water was ‘compassed’ around the globe earth, which was then opened up to flood the earth, coming to an end after 40 days and nights.
Water is still abundant as a vapor in the heavens, as it acts as one of the cleaning systems of the heavens. UV light from the sun hits the H20 vapors, to create Hydroxyls (HO• and H•), which act to scrub and cleanse the earth’s environment.
Job 28:24 “For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven;”
This verse is simply proclaiming that Elohim’s knowledge is unlimited, and He is all-knowing; which applies on either a flat earth or a globe earth.
Job 37:3 “He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.”
This verse is simply proclaiming that Elohim’s voice was directed at the inhabitants of the earth. It most certainly is not proclaiming that the earth is flat.
Job 37:18 “Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?”
Nathan adds: The premise of this verse is a “question” being posed, in order to put “man” in perspective to the Creator. In that teaching moment Yahuah reveals a truth about the “expanse,” that it is “strong” just like a “molten looking glass.”
Flat earthers say that the “molten looking glass” is the hard dome, but this verse says that the sky is as a “molten looking glass” and we know that the sky is not solid.
The Hebrew word for sky is 7834 shachaq; a powder (as beaten small): by analogy, a thin vapor; by extension, the firmament:—cloud, small dust, heaven, sky.
It says “as a molten looking glass” so it’s a simile that’s not declaring that the sky is a glass dome. The verses is simply declaring the glory of a clear sky, which allows you to see the many stars in the heavens, which reflects the glory of Elohim’s creation.
They did not have glass mirrors in Job’s day, so they beat metal into sheets and polished it, to be able to see their reflection. The King James translators were describing a mirror, as they had glass in their days. It’s simply pointing to the heavens which shine down on us, reflecting the glory of creation.
Psalm 19:1 “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.”
Read Psalm 19:1-6 and you see that it’s pointing to the glory of the stars in heaven. It’s talking about the 12 constellations of the Mazzaroth which encircle the earth on the ecliptic, and in which the Sun travels to tell the redemption story.
Once again the word firmament is not pointing to a glass dome, but to the expanse of the heavens.
Psalm 150:1 “Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.”
Does that mean to praise him in the hard glass dome of his power? No! It’s declaring that we should praise the Creator of the starry heavens.
Proverbs 8:28 “When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:”
The Hebrew word for clouds is 7834 shachaq; a powder (as beaten small): by analogy, a thin vapor; by extension, the firmament:—cloud, small dust, heaven, sky.
That word is saying that the clouds are part of the firmament, the heaven, the sky; which against shows that the firmament is not a glass dome.
Isaiah 40:22 “It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:”
This is a huge topic of the flat earth debate, so I’ve a detailed explanation in this study.
Isaiah 44:24 “Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;”
Once again, Scripture is proclaiming that it is the heavens that were stretched, not a glass dome.
Isaiah 45:12 “I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.”
Nathan adds: This verse, Isaiah 45:12, is in agreement with Job 26:7 and Job 37:18, as well as, there is no contradiction within the inspired words of Yahuah. Only a fool is willing to declare Yahuah a liar by stating that His hands have NOT stretched out the heavens.” Let Yahuah be true and every man a liar.” (Romans 3:4)
Once again, Scripture is proclaiming that it is the heavens that were stretched out, not a glass dome. A fool is someone who misrepresents what the Word of Yahuah is saying!
Isaiah 48:13 “Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.”
Nathan adds: What is being “spanned” by Yahuah in the heavens?
The answer to that question is that this verse is saying that Elohim’s hand stretched out, meaning that He extended the heavens. Once again, Scripture is proclaiming that it is the heavens that were stretched out, not a glass dome.
Ezekiel 1:22-26 “And the likeness of the firmament upon the heads of the living creature was as the colour of the terrible crystal, stretched forth over their heads above. And under the firmament were their wings straight, the one toward the other: every one had two, which covered on this side, and every one had two, which covered on that side, their bodies. And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, the voice of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings. And there was a voice from the firmament that was over their heads, when they stood, and had let down their wings. And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.”
The narrative of Ezekiel 1 is of a symbolic vision, so it’s not really pointing to the designs of the heavens and earth; but rather, it’s describing the glory of our Creator
Ezekiel 10:1 “Then I looked, and, behold, in the firmament that was above the head of the cherubims there appeared over them as it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne.”
Like Ezekiel 1, it is not describing the heavens that we see, with the sun and moon in it; but rather another expanse around the throne of our Creator.“
Daniel 12:3 “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.”
Are we to believe that a flat earth dome has brightness? No!
This verse is telling you what the firmament (raqiya) is the expanse with the stars in it, not a glass dome. It’s clearly pointing to the bright, shining stars in expanse of heaven!
The saints are portrayed as stars, which shine in the heaven of our Creator.
Amos 9:6 “It is he that buildeth his stories in the heaven, and hath founded his troop in the earth; he that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name.”
Nathan adds: Some translations use the word “troop.” Have you researched the original Hebrew meaning of that word? “Stong’s 92 OT (Hebrew ‘aguddahag-ood-daw’ feminine passive participle of an unused root (meaning to bind); a band, bundle, knot, or arch:–bunch, burden, troop.” Did you see the word “arch” in there? Again, no inconsistency in God’s Word.
The word “stories” is pointing to the “elevation” of heaven, once again pointing to how the expanse of heaven, the firmament, was stretched out.
I’m not clear how Nathan proclaiming that the word “troop” doesn’t mean an arch, is proving that there’s a dome over the flat earth.
Note: The Septuagint, the Greek Old Testament, has a completely different reading, “It is he that builds up to the sky, and established his promise on earth; who calls the water of the sea, and pours it out on the face of the earth; the Lord Almighty is his name.”
Acts 7:56 “And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.”
Nathan adds: If the “heavens” are only the open expanse/sky, why would it have to be re-opened? What is being “opened?” Perhaps, the firmament?
Opening the heavens simply means that a vision of Messiah sitting in heaven next to His Father, was given to Stephen before he was stoned to death.
Revelation 4:6 “And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.”
This verse is giving a vision of heaven, and has nothing to do with the shape of the earth.
Revelation 6:14 “And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.”
This verse is using symbolic language to point to the calamity that was befalling the pagan Roman Empire. Mountains and islands symbolize the groups of people who were affected by the decline and fall of the Roman Empire. Read Revelation 6 – 6th Seal
These verses affirm that it was the heavens that were stretched out, not a glass dome:
Jeremiah 10:12 “He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.”
Jeremiah 51:15 “He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding.”
Nathan adds: If anyone is causing a divide/wedge over the true existence of the dome/firmament it is the obstinance of the man’s refusal to accept God’s Word for His firmament.
You can clearly see that it is Nathan who is refusing to accept Elohim’s Word’ that the firmament is the expanse, the heavens; in which the stars declare the glory of Elohim.
The sun and moon are in the expanse, in the heavens. The ecliptic circle surrounded the earth like a tent, like a tabernacle in which Elohim dwells; which tells the Gospel story day and night.
Nathan says that Moon has its own Light: Genesis 1:16, Isaiah 13:10, Isaiah 30:26, Isaiah 60:19-20, Jeremiah 31:35, Matthew 24:29, Mark 13:24, Ezekiel 32:7, Revelation 21:23
Flat earthers have to dismiss that the sun illuminates the moon, because it causes problems on their flat earth model. The irony here is that they cannot explain how the moon illuminates itself, or how it displays the evolving phases.
We can clearly see the direct relationship of the New Moon being located near the setting sun; and for the next 14 days, the moon is 1/14th further away from the sun at sunset, and it is 1 1/4th more illuminated. After 7 days, the waxing half moon is directly overhead at sunset. After 14 days, the full moon is rising in the East at sunset. It’s not rocket science, the sun clearly illuminates the moon!
In each of these verses, the sun being dimmed, results in the moon also being dimmed; showing the direct relationship, as the sun illuminates the moon. Just as the Sun of Righteousness, Messiah, illuminates us and shines through us.
Genesis 1:16 “And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.”
The Hebrew word for “lights” is 3974 ma’owr; properly, a luminous body or luminary, i.e. (abstractly) light (as an element): figuratively, brightness, i.e.cheerfulness; specifically, a chandelier:—bright, light.
So it’s clearly saying that the moon can provide light by being a luminous body, which reflects the sun’s light.
Isaiah 13:10 “For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.”
The verse is not pointing to the physical sun, moon and stars; rather it is pointing to the overthrow of the Babylonian kingdom. The ‘sun, moon and stars’ are symbolic of earthly dignitaries, great political authorities and great lights in the political or religious heavens.
We know this because in Genesis 37:8-10, Joseph had a dream, ..”And this time, the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to me. So he told it to his father and his brothers; and his father rebuked him and said to him, “What is this dream that you have dreamed? Shall your mother and I and your brothers indeed come to bow down to the earth before you?” It was symbolic of the power structure.
Isaiah 13:10 is referring to the Babylonian leaders being removed from power by the Medo-Persians; not to the literal heavenly bodies.Isaiah 13:17 confirms this with, “Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them,”
Isaiah 30:26 “Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound.”
This verse is not speaking literally, but is a hyperbolical expression, of the most glorious and comfortable condition of Elohim’s church, far surpassing what it was in former ages. Messiah is our Sun of Righteousness, our High Priest; which is far superior to the Israelite High Priest.
Isaiah 60:19-20 “The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory. Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.”
These verses are prophesying about the day when the Father and Son will illuminate the New Jerusalem.
Ezekiel 32:7 “And when I shall put thee out, I will cover the heaven, and make the stars thereof dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light.”
First of all, it says that He will cover the sun and the moon will not give it’s light; so we see the direct relationship. It did not say that He would cover the moon, just the sun. And by covering the sun, the moon cannot reflect the light of the sun.
But the context of the verse is the kingdom of Egypt, which Elohim is judging by sending armies against it; so that the king (sun), the “moon” of the queen, or of the priesthood; the “stars” of nobles, princes, counsellors, and such like eminent persons, useful in government; are darkened, removed from power.
Jeremiah 31:35 “Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name:”
Jeremiah 31 about the promised Messiah, who would establish His church and setup His Father’s kingdom. He is the Sun of Righteousness, the disciples are the moon which reflected His light, and the stars are His saints who provide light to the world.
Matthew 24:29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:”
Mark 13:24 “But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light”
Messiah’s Olivet Discourse foretold the desolation of the temple, the city of Jerusalem, and 1.1 million Jews. The symbolism of the sun, moon and stars, is pointing to the Jewish leaders; who rejected their promised Messiah and delivered Him up to be killed; the High Priest (Sun), the Sanhedrin (the moon) and the priest system (the stars); being removed from power (dimmed) in 70 A.D., when the Roman army desolated the temple, city and Jerusalem. Read The Sun, Moon And Stars
Revelation 21:23 “And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.”
This is the fulfillment of Isaiah 60:19-20, Holy Jerusalem, in which there will be no need for a sun or moon, to shine in it.
None of these verses have proven that the moon has it’s own light
Nathan says that everyone sees Jesus, proving that the earth is flat: Revelation 1:7
“Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.”
There is no place on the flat earth where Messiah could return, that every person in every country could see. Can you see the sky over Jerusalem from where you live? No!
Nathan says that New Jerusalem is a HUGE cube, proving that the earth is flat: Revelation 21:15-17
Revelation 21:15-17 “And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.”
The shape of New Jerusalem has nothing to do with the shape of the Earth.
Nathan says that “Breadth” means that the earth is spread out flat: Genesis 13:17, Job 38:18, Isaiah 8:8, Isaiah 42:5 (“spread out the earth”), Revelation 20:9
Genesis 13:17 “Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.”
Breadth simply means width. Elohim was telling them to walk the length and width of the land, which He was going to give them. It has nothing to do with the shape of the earth!
Job 38:18 “Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all.”
This verses is simply pointing to the width of the earth. The Hebrew word is rachab, which means: a width:—breadth, broad place. Both the flat earth and globe earth have a width.
Isaiah 8:8 “And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel.”
It’s talking about the width of a particular area of the land of Jerusalem, and has nothing to do with the shape of the earth!
Isaiah 42:5 (“spread out the earth”) “Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:”
Once again, Scripture is declaring that the heavens are stretched out, not a hard glass dome. Spreading for the earth doesn’t declare that the earth is flat, that’s just Nathan’s eisegesis.
Revelation 20:9 “And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.”
The Greek word for earth is ge, is not referring to the whole earth, but to the land of Jerusalem.
ge = which means: by extension a region, or the solid part or the whole of the terrene globe (including the occupants in each application):—country, earth(-ly), ground, land, world.
Just as the city of Jerusalem is set up on a hill, the New Jerusalem will also be set up high.
The armies of the enemies will go up to Jerusalem, to seek to attack it.
It’s talking about a hill or plateau, not a flat earth.
Nathan says that the Voice of Creation goes out in a “line” through all the earth, proving that the earth is flat: Psalm 19:4
“Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,”
Their “line” is the ecliptic that encircle the globe earth. See the explanation on Isaiah 40:22
Nathan points to creation worshippers (Heliocentric Sun-god worshippers): Deuteronomy 4:19, Deuteronomy 17:3, 2 Kings 23:5, Jeremiah 8:2, Acts 7:42-43, Acts 14:8-20
The focus of these verses is about the pagan god worship of the sun, moon and stars; which happens regardless of whether it’s flat or a globe; so it doesn’t prove anything.
It’s just a false proclamation by Nathan, to try to reinforce his beliefs. That’s 20 more verses that simply do not proclaim that the earth is flat!
Nathan says that Lucifer/Satan’s Conspiracy is to unite the world against Yahuah’s (God) throne which is above the Firmament: Genesis 11:1-9; Psalm 2; Isaiah 14:12-15; Revelation 12:7-9
Genesis 11:1-9 The story of the tower of Babel doesn’t prove that the earth is flat, it simply points to mans attempt to be as god and reach the heavens.
Psalm 2 points to opposition against the true faith.
Isaiah 14:12-15 is about Satan’s fall from heaven.
Revelation 12:7-9 is about the spiritual battle of Satan using the mighty Roman Empire to try to wipe out Messiah’s church.
None of these verses are proclaiming that the earth is flat, so they should not be on a list of verses that supposedly proclaim that the earth is flat!
Verses that indicate that the sun moves, which point to the geocentric position of the earth, but do not prove that the earth is flat.
Nathan says that the Sun moves, not the Earth: Genesis 15:12, Genesis 15:17, Genesis 19:23, Genesis 32:31, Exodus 17:12, Exodus 22:3, Exodus 22:26, Leviticus 22:7, Numbers 2:3, Numbers 21:11, Numbers 34:15, Deuteronomy 4:41, Deuteronomy 4:47, Deuteronomy 11:30, Deuteronomy 16:6, Deuteronomy 23:11, Deuteronomy 24:13, Deuteronomy 24:15, Joshua 1:15, Joshua 8:29, Joshua 10:27, Joshua 12:1, Joshua 13:5, Joshua 19:12, Joshua 19:27, Joshua 19:34, Judges 8:13, Judges 9:33, Judges 14:18, Judges 19:14, Judges 20:43, 2 Samuel 2:24, 2 Samuel 3:35, 2 Samuel 23:4, 1 Kings 22:36, 2 Chronicles 18:34, Psalm 50:1, Psalm 113:3, Ecclesiastes 1:5, Isaiah 41:25, Isaiah 45:6, Isaiah 59:19, Jeremiah 15:9, Daniel 6:14, Amos 8:9, Jonah 4:8, Micah 3:6, Nahum 3:17, Malachi 1:11, Matthew 5:45, Mark 16:2, Ephesians 4:26, James 1:11
All of these verses describe the sun rising up or going down. Does the sun ever ‘rise up’ or ‘go down’ on the flat Earth model? No! They proclaim that it moves in a circle above the flat surface; so the words rise up and goes down cannot apply to the flat Earth model sun.
“And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.” Genesis 15:12
“And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.” Genesis 15:17
“For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles;” Malachi 1:11
As for the sun moving and not the Earth, the same thing can be explained on a geocentric globe earth; and the sun does rise and set around a globe earth.
Nathan says that the Sun STOPS moving: Isaiah 60:20, Job 9:7, Joshua 10:12-14, Habakkuk 3:11
The same thing could happen on a geocentric globe earth, so it doesn’t prove that the Earth is flat.
Nathan says that the Sun moves BACKWARDS: 2 Kings 20:8-11
The same thing could happen on a geocentric globe earth, so it doesn’t prove that the Earth is flat.
Nathan says that the Earth is fixed and immovable: 1 Chronicles 16:30, Psalm 33:9, Psalm 93:1, Psalm 96:10, Psalm 104:5, Psalm 119:89-90, Isaiah 14:7, Isaiah 45:18, Zechariah 1:11, Hebrews 11:10, 2 Peter 3:5
These verses point to a stationary, geocentric Earth; but they say nothing about its shape, so they are not proofs that it’s flat.
1 Chronicles 16:30 “Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved.”
The context is not the physical earth fearing Elohim, or the physical earth rejoicing, “Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The LORD reigneth.” 1 Chronicles 16:31
Psalm 33:9 “For he spake, and it was (done); he commanded, and it stood fast.”
The context is not pointing to the earth standing fast, but that the inhabitants of the world should revere Elohim, “Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.” Psalm 33:8
Psalm 93:1 “The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.”
The context is pointing to Elohim’s government of this world, His leaders, which cannot be moved; so it’s not talking about the physical earth.
Psalm 96:10 “Say among the heathen that the LORD reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously.”
Read Psalm 96. Does it have anything to do with the creation of the earth or the design of the earth? No!
It a Psalm of David, a prophecy of the coming of the Messiah, and of the calling of the Gentiles that believe in him:
The word for world is tebel = the earth (as moist and therefore inhabited); by extension, the globe; by implication, its inhabitants; specifically, a particular land, as Babylonia, Palestine:—habitable part, world.
What is the particular land of Scripture? Jerusalem, mount Zion.
The next verse talks about the earth, that it should be glad. Should we take that to mean the physical earth should be glad? No!
“Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof.” Psalm 96:11
Psalm 96 is not declaring a fixed earth. It’s saying that the kingdom of Elohim, made up of those who have a covenant relationship with Him through the Son, will not be moved. And that they will rejoice at His righteous judgment.
Psalm 104:5 “Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.”
This verse doesn’t point to a flat earth or a globe earth, as both would have foundations; a place, an abode, a dwelling place. The Hebrew word for foundations is 4349 makown; properly, a fixture, i.e. a basis; generally a place, especially as an abode:—foundation, habitation, (dwelling-, settled) place.
Psalm 119:89-90 “For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.”
Elohim establishing the earth doesn’t declare that it’s flat or a globe.
Isaiah 14:7 “The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.”
Do we really think that this verse is proclaiming that the whole physical earth is at rest and quiet, or that it’s proclaiming that the earth is flat? No!
The context is that the kingdom of Babylon, which had oppressed many on earth, had been conquered by the Medes; so the people rejoiced.
Isaiah 45:18 “For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.”
At least this verse is about the creation of the earth and heavens. But establishing the earth doesn’t declare that it’s flat or a globe.
Zechariah 1:11 “And they answered the angel of the LORD that stood among the myrtle trees, and said, We have walked to and fro through the earth, and, behold, all the earth sitteth still, and is at rest.”
This verses is proclaiming that there is general peace through the Persian empire, and other states connected with Judea. It’s not about the design of the earth.
Hebrews 11:10 “For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.”
It’s talking about Jerusalem, not the earth. And it’s not even talking about physical Jerusalem, but to heavenly Jerusalem as declared in Hebrews 12:22, “But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,”
It is also declared in Revelation 3:12, 21:2 and 21:10
2 Peter 3:5 “For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:”
This verse does not say that the earth is fixed and immovable. It’s simply pointing to land standing above the water.
The Greek word for earth is 1093 ge: contracted from a primary word; soil; by extension a region, or the solid part or the whole of the terrene globe.
Once again, we see that Nathan has taken these verses out of their proper context, to try to make the Bible proclaim that the earth is flat.
Nathan says that God’s Word is ALWAYS Faithful and True: Jeremiah 42:5, Revelation 3:14, Revelation 19:11, Revelation 21:5, Revelation 22:6
Yes He is, but as you’ve seen, the verses that Nathan’s cited do not declare that the Earth is flat; so these verses don’t prove anything in regard to the shape of the Earth.
That’s five more verses that do not proclaim that the earth is flat.
Nathan Roberts is making money by teaching that the earth is flat.
Nathan accuses me of false teaching, but I have no financial reason for doing so. On the other hand, Nathan Roberts has many ways that he’s making money by teaching that the earth is flat.
He sells books titled ‘The Doctrine of the Shape of the Earth: A Comprehensive Biblical Perspective’ and ‘Earth is FLAT like a MAT!’
He offers Patreon subscriptions for flat earthers. He says “Globe Trolls have their place in the Flat Earth community, and can’t be ignored.” That’s funny, as Nathan condemns ‘globeheads’ and proclaims that they are “tools of Satan” for teaching that the earth is a globe; yet he is fine with making money from them.
And Nathan sells coffee mugs, baseball hats, t-shirts, decals, posters and banners.
Sadly, it’s Nathan and other flat earthers who are being used by the enemy, to teach false beliefs about the Bible; and Rob Skiba and others are making money by doing so. I think that’s very biased!
Summary:
There are zero verses which proclaim that the earth is flat. Nathan Roberts has clearly misrepresented the context of these verses, to try to make them fit his beliefs.
As you saw above, Ecclesiastes 1:6 proves that the earth is a globe, as the wind goes south and turns about unto the north, in a circuit (circle). That is not possible on the flat earth model.
There are verses which point to a geocentric earth, which I believe is the hidden truth. I believe that the enemy has deceived people into believing that the earth is flat, so that the truth about the geocentric globe earth is hidden. And sadly, because of people like Nathan Roberts, the enemy’s deception is working very well. 🙁

On 11/22/18, I made Nathan Roberts aware that this study has been updated with more information, that proves what he teaches is false. I told him that I pray that he will print this Biblical Proofs study and prayerfully go through it with his wife.
He replied within 8 minutes and told me to repent, so obviously he didn’t go through the study. So now he is without excuse, for he can’t say that nobody has shown him his errors.
I’m praying for Nathan and his wife to come to understand what the Bible is proclaiming, that the globe earth is geocentric; and that he will become a zealot for proclaiming the geocentric globe earth, and exposing the flat earth theory.

The geocentric globe earth removes the stumbling blocks too, as it proves a Creator, which can lead people to salvation.
Unfortunately, Nathan Roberts and the other flat earthers have been deceived by the enemy about the earth being flat, so many people reject that the earth is geocentric, and they remain unsaved.
Now think about how easy it would be for people to see that they’ve been misled about the earth being heliocentric. It’s a much smaller leap for them to see and accept that the globe earth is geocentric.
So Nathan Roberts, it is you who is causing people to reject the geocentric earth, because of the false claims that it’s flat.
I pray that you will read the Biblical Proofs Of The Geocentric Globe Earth study and consider what I’m saying.

The Flat Earth Deception home page has many proofs. Give it your best shot, prove them wrong!
Nathan Roberts hands out Flat Earth business cards, that proclaim that he’s a Cosmological Evangelist.
That’s ironic because he can’t even see that the sun and moon prove that the earth is a globe, and that it can’t be flat.
The sun and moon do not vanish as a small dot over the horizon; but rather, they rise up from under the horizon and set below the horizon.
On the flat earth, objects that are moving away would simply grow smaller and disappear at the vanishing point, but they would always stay above the horizon.
But every day we see the Sun rise up from under the horizon, and set down below the horizon. They appear the same size when they rise up, when they are overhead and when they set. That is only possible on a globe earth!
Here’s some key points that flat earth promoter Nathan Roberts teaches:
1) LEVEL Water: Water ALWAYS seeks level. Water cannot be proven to stick to a ball, much less a spinning ball. Since water always seeks its level, how’s it possible that water can be sticking to a spherically shaped earth?
Flat earthers pour water on a basketball and since it doesn’t stick to it, they proclaim that disproves that the earth is a globe, because water can’t stick to the sides or bottom of a ball.
That’s the shallow level of their thinking! It’s amazing! As if no other laws of physics are at work on the globe earth, to keep water in place.
Saying that water would fall off the sides and bottom of a globe earth, means that they’re thinking that a flat earth is right-side up in the universe; which is absurd!
They proclaim that there is no such thing as gravity, so they cite density and buoyancy.
Okay, so which direction does density and buoyancy cause objects to move? Down, towards the earth.
So the same principle is true on a globe earth. Density and buoyancy cause water to stay pressed down against the surface of the globe earth.
The statement that ‘water always seeks its level’ is ignorant.
The laws of physicals cause water to seek to move to the lowest elevation. This is why rivers can flow north/south/east/west, as they follow a path to a lower elevation.
I teach that the globe earth is geocentric, so their point about water not sticking to a spinning ball doesn’t apply.
2) LEVEL Horizon: The Horizon is ALWAYS at eye-LEVEL and horizontal, aka FLAT, no matter the altitude. Weather balloons have been sent up 20 miles above the face of the earth and footage captured testifies to this reality.
This statement is flat wrong! Pun intended.
Images from weather balloons are looking down to the horizon line. If an image was taken looking straight out, the center point would be the sky.
We can clearly see this from an airplane.
Let’s apply this to a picture to see the difference between the level line and the horizon line.
This photo was taken by an airline pilot from 45,000 feet, pointing down to the sun as it sets on the horizon. You can see that the downward angle is 3.7 degrees.
If the Theodolite app was pointing up, so that it’s at 0 degrees tilt, then the cross hairs would be pointing to the sky above the horizon, at the red horizontal line. So the horizon does not rise up to meet our eye!

3) Aircraft never accounts for motion of earth: Airplanes, helicopters, and drones never have to account for the alleged motion of the earth. Hence, the earth is stationary and fixed.
Since I believe that the earth is geocentric, then I agree that the earth is not spinning.
Having said that, if a plane wants to fly due east, on the flat earth it would not be able to travel in a straight line; but rather would have to continually bank to the left in order to account for the every changing easterly direction, because east travels in a circle on the flat earth, not a straight line.

4) Railroad track and Bridges: Whenever railroad track is laid or a bridge is constructed, never do the blueprints suggest or even hint that the alleged curvature of the earth should be considered, including, when built over water.
The earth curves eight inches per mile. During the 1st mile, the earth curves 8 inches. During the 2nd mile, the earth curves 8 inches. During the 3rd mile, the earth curves 8 inches. And that continues the whole way down the track.
Drive for mile on a flat road and ask yourself if you think that you would be able to detect 8″ of curvature.
As for bridges, his statement that blueprints don’t take the curvature into account is absurd!
For long bridges, they simply erect piers which put the road xx number of feet above the surface of the water, so the curvature is automatically accounted for, as the whole road is xx number of feet above the water.
Of course flat earthers deny clear evidence, such as Lake Pontchartrain, which proves that the earth is curved, and that water curves around the globe earth. If the earth was flat, the piers towers would go out in a straight line, but they don’t, they curve.
.
5) Airplanes and Submarines: Never does an airplane or submarine have to account for the alleged curvature of the earth during their navigation. If the earth had curvature then an adjustment of 8 inches per mile squared (spherical trigonometry) must be taken into account during navigation of both an airplane and a submarine, however, never are adjustments made for curvature.
They aim the plane to stay at a particular altitude above the earth, so the curvature is automatically accounted for. A gyroscope indicates the orientation of the plane to the earth’s surface, not to a straight line in space. A plane’s natural tendency is to point down to the ground, so the control’s keep it level in its relationship to the earth.
So to maintain an altitude of 10,000 feet above the earth’s surface, the plane is constantly adjusting to keep its nose up; all the while the gyroscope is reading level. The adjustment for the curve is built in.
Flat earthers ignore that when traveling east or west, they would have to continuously be turning around the curved flat earth.
In a submarine, they stay at a particular depth below the surface of the water, so the curvature is automatically accounted for. As you travel, the sub adjusts its course, to stay xx number of feet below the surface of the water.
6) GRAVITY “Theory” (aka hoax): Gravity has NEVER been proven, however, what has been proven is density and buoyancy. Density and buoyancy are the natural regulators God has put into place that dictates what rises and what falls based upon the medium(s) the object is within.
Flat earthers have to dismiss gravity because it’s based on the globe earth model.
What laws of physics explain how the flat earth sun stays 3,000 miles above the surface of the flat earth?
What laws of physics explain how the sun increases and decreases its speed, as it moves from the Tropic of Cancer to the Tropic of Capricorn?
Flat Earthers dismiss gravity, but they have no scientific explanations for how the sun and moon stay above the flat earth.
They have no scientific explanation for how the moon appears larger sometimes.
It’s amazing to see them dismiss gravity, but they have no scientific explanations for how the flat earth model works. They just show cool graphics of the sun and moon rotating above the flat earth, and think that’s good enough.

Nathan Roberts and other flat earthers proclaim that my explanations are wrong, but they never prove how they are wrong.
I agree with how you say flat-earthers are wrong about a flat Earth.
We need to replace the false cosmology with the true one, without mentioning the false one. Does such a thing exist?
