It says “CIRCLE OF THE EARTH” on the top of it, referring to Isaiah 40:22.

Flat-earthers and Heliocentrists proclaim that the “circle” is describing the globe earth, but that misses the mark. A circle is a curved line, which has no area – just as a straight line has no area.

The Strong’s Hebrew for the word “circle” is 2329 chuwg; which means a circle:—circle, circuit, compass. The Strong’s Hebrew word for “ball” is 1754, duwr; which means a circle, ball or pile:—ball, turn, round about.

The word ball is used in Isaiah 22:18, “He will surely violently turn and toss thee like a ball into a large country: there shalt thou die, and there the chariots of thy glory shall be the shame of thy lord’s house.”

Isaiah knows the difference between a ball and a circle, so if Isaiah is describing the globe earth, then he would have used the word ball (Strong’s Hebrew 1754, duwr), not circle (Strong’s Hebrew 2329, chuwg).

But Isaiah didn’t use the word “ball” to describe a globe-shaped earth; as he’s not describing the earth itself.

Isaiah 40:22 doesn’t say “circular earth,” it says “the circle of the earth.” The circle is the focus, not the earth. Just like you would say “the rings of Saturn” to point to the rings, not the planet; Isaiah is pointing to the circle, not the earth. The context of the verse shows that he’s pointing to the ecliptic circle in the expanse of the heavens, which surrounds the globe earth.

Seeing this was an ‘aha!’ moment for me because it changes the whole debate about this verse; as it’s pointing to the constellations in the expanse of the heavens, which encircle the earth.

Isaiah 40:22 says, “It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth.” The ‘he’ is our Heavenly Father, who is not sitting upon the earth; so right there, we can see that the circle is not describing the earth.

Isaiah 40:22 declares “and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers,” which reveals that our Heavenly Father’s viewpoint makes people look small, so we can see that He’s high above the earth; once again proving that He’s not sitting on the earth.

The same Hebrew word (chuwg) is used in Job 22:14 to describe the circuit of heaven, which also proves that our Heavenly Father walks on the circle of heaven, not on the earth. “Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven.”

In the context of talking about the circle, Isaiah 40:22 describes the stars, not the earth; “that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in.”

He’s saying that the circle is stretched out like a curtain, like a tent, which surrounds the globe earth. Above and below the twelve primary constellations on the ecliptic circle are thirty-six decan constellations, which form a spherical tabernacle of stars, in which our Heavenly Father dwells.

The word for “tent” is 168 ‘ohel; which means: a tent:—covering, (dwelling)(place), home, tabernacle.

Our Heavenly Father’s home is above the tabernacle of stars which surrounds the globe earth as a curtain. The forty-eight constellations of the mazzaroth which are based around the ecliptic circle, have proclaimed His plan of redemption from the beginning. They witness to us every night.

The context of Isaiah 40:22 is the circle of stars in heaven, not the earth. Our Heavenly Father is pointing to the Gospel in the Stars, which the enemy has perverted with explanations of pagan gods.

If you’re a flat earther, this book provides explanations of the Bible verses that are cited to justify the flat earth, to give the proper context.

Nathan Roberts Of Flat Earth Fails To Understand The Context Of Isaiah 40:22

This website exposes the flat earth deception and proves that the earth is globe shaped.

Nathan Roberts posted this mocking meme about Isaiah 40:22 on his Flat Earth Doctrine Facebook page.

Flat earth verse Isaiah 40:22 circle

He mocks people who believe that the ‘circle’ in Isaiah 40:22 is pointing to a ball earth, but he fails to understand that the ‘circle’ is not describing the earth per se; it’s describing the ecliptic circle that surrounds the globe earth.

Isaiah 40:22 says, “It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth.” The ‘he’ is our Heavenly Father, who is not sitting upon a circular flat earth; so right there, we can see that the circle is not describing the earth.

Isaiah 40:22 says “and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers,” which reveals that Elohim’s viewpoint makes people look like grasshoppers, so we can see that He’s high above the earth; once again proving that He’s not sitting on a circle flat earth.

Isaiah 40:22 says, “that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in.” The constellations on the ecliptic “circle” give the primary message of the redemption story.

The context of Isaiah 40:22 is the stars of heaven, not the earth. Elohim is pointing to the Gospel in the Stars; which the enemy has perverted with explanations of pagan gods.

Let’s back up in Isaiah 40 to get the context of the verse. Elohim is declaring the glory of His creation. “To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him? The workman melteth a graven image, and the goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth silver chains.” Isaiah 40:18-19

Elohim is pointing to the circle of stars, which have declared the Gospel message from creation. “Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?” Isaiah 40:21

We see that Elohim tells Isaiah to look up to the circle of the stars (host) of the mazzaroth. “Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.” Isaiah 40:26

Flat-earthers fail to understand the context of Isaiah 40:22, which is pointing to the ecliptic circle of constellations, which proclaim the Gospel message every night. Instead of it being a flat-earth proof, it’s proof of a globe earth.

If Isaiah was talking about the earth in Isaiah 40:22, there’s another word that Isaiah could have used to describe a disc flat earth, but he did not use that word. I’ll cover that word in my upcoming book.

For now you can read Biblical Proofs Of The Globe Earth

This website exposes the flat earth deception and proves that the earth is globe shaped.

Nathan Roberts posted this video called ‘Where are the 4 corners of the earth on the Gleason map? – Flat Earth’.

Nathan says that in some translations, the “circle” in Isaiah 40:22 is replaced with the word “disc,” but he didn’t tell us which translations.

Here’s the King James version:

It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:”

When I searched Bible Hub, I only found one Bible version, the International Standard Version, which uses the word disc; and it’s not a good word-for-word translation.

Nathan Roberts cited Isaiah 11:12 as an example of a verse that points to four corners, and he said that “when looking at this word “corners” you can come up with the word “quarter.”

“And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.”

Hebrew word 3671 kanaph; an edge or extremity; specifically (of a bird or army) a wing, (of a garment or bed-clothing) a flap, (of the earth) a quarter, (of a building) a pinnacle:—+ bird, border, corner, end, feather(-ed), X flying, + (one an-)other, overspreading, X quarters, skirt, X sort, uttermost part, wing).

The problem is that the only Bible version that uses the word “quarters” is the NIV, and it’s not a good word-for-word translation.

When you look at Nathan’s explanation of the four quarters, you see that the four corners meet at the North Pole.  Are we to believe that the remnant are gathered from the area of the North Pole? No!

Nathan Roberts Flat Earth Where are the 4 corners of the earth on the Gleason map? video

Isaiah 11:11 tells you where the remnant of Elohim’s people had been scattered, and they were not from areas that were near the North Pole.

“And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.”

So even though his explanation creates four corners on the flat earth map, it’s an invalid explanation.

The obvious explanation is that the remnant of Elohim were dispersed throughout the region; so they were east, west, north and south; the four directions.

The bigger problem with Nathan Roberts’ explanation is that the circle of Isaiah 40:22 is not pointing to the earth.  Indeed Isaiah does know the difference between circle and sphere and globe.  He used the word circle to point to the ecliptic circle on which the sun appears in the 12 constellations, to tell the Gospel narrative.

It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:”

The ‘he’ is our Creator, who is not sitting upon a circular flat earth.  He is sitting in the heavens, where the circle of the ecliptic displays the narrative of redemption through the constellations.

The word for ‘tent‘ can be rendered as ‘tabernacle‘; so it’s saying that our Creator is sitting in the tabernacle of the stars which He created.

Let’s back up to get the context of the verse. Elohim is declaring the glory of His creation.

And to whom would you liken Ěl? And what likeness would you compare to Him? The workman moulds a graven image, and the goldsmith overspreads it with gold, and the silversmith casts silver chains. Isaiah 40:18-19

He is declaring that the works of man are nothing as compared to His creativity and power. Then He points out His mazzaroth, the twelve signs in the circle of the mazzaroth, which have proclaimed His plan of redemption from the beginning.

The CIRCLE in Isaiah 40:22 is the mazzaroth in the sky above, that has 12 constellations in a circle on the ecliptic, which declare the Gospel. It is like a curtain which covers the earth, and in which the stars dwell.  It’s a tabernacle (tent) in which the Father dwells.

Paul Raines Misleads People About The Circle Of Isaiah 40:22

Paul Raines shared this post about Isaiah 40:22, to the Facebook group: The FLAT out TRUTH & no BALL face LIES.

The ‘circle’ in Isaiah 40:22 is not describing the shape of the earth, so the debate about whether it’s pointing to a flat circle earth or a globe earth is the wrong context.

“It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:”

The ‘he’ is our Creator. Do we really think that the Father is sitting on the flat earth circle?  Or the globe earth?  No!

He is declaring that the works of man are nothing as compared to His creativity and power. Then He points out His Mazzoroth, the twelve signs in the circle of the Mazzoroth, which have proclaimed His plan of redemption from the beginning.

Did you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been declared to you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth? Isaiah 40:21

The CIRCLE in Isaiah 40:22 is the Mazzoroth in the sky above, that has 12 constellations in a circle on the ecliptic, which declare the Gospel.

It is like a curtain which covers the earth, and in which the stars dwell.  It’s a tabernacle (tent) in which the Father dwells.

The circle of Isaiah 40:22 is the ecliptic, not the flat earth circle

We see that Elohim tells Isaiah to look up to the circle of the stars of the Mazzoroth.

Lift up your eyes on high and see. Who has created these? He who is bringing out their host by number, He calls them all by name, by the greatness of His might and the strength of His power – not one is missing. Isaiah 40:26

The Father sits in the heavens, on the circle of the Mazzoroth, which surrounds the globe earth.

Hopefully this proof has helped Paul Raines and other flat earthers see some truth.  🙂
