Pastor Dean Odle posted this video titled ‘The Bible Does Say FLAT EARTH’
For Revelation 20:7-9 he says “New Testament says “FLAT EARTH!”
“And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.”
Pastor Dean Odle asks, “why doesn’t it just say that they went up on the earth?”
Then he looked up the word breadth, which in Greek is platos. It means flat; so by this he’s proclaiming that the whole earth is flat.
Of course a plateau is flat on top of it! How does he ignore that the text says that “they went up?”
Did they go up to the whole flat earth? No, they went up to the elevated plateau where the saints were located. That means that it’s not talking about the whole earth, which is not all flat.
How is it that he can’t understand that it’s simply referring to the elevation of the land, not to the whole earth?
He says that it should read “and they went up on the FLAT EARTH.” He’s changing what Scripture says, to try to make it fit his flat earth theory. Unbelievable, this from a pastor!!!
He cites Job 37:21 bright light (sun) which is in the clouds, then shows pictures of the sun in the clouds.
Pastor Dean Odle then cited Job 37:21 to proclaim that the sun is close because it’s in the clouds; and he showed pictures of the setting sun appearing among clouds.
“And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.”
All the verse is saying is that the clouds cover our view of the sun, until the wind chases the clouds away. The next verse tells you that the context is about the weather. How does he not see this? His perspective is so skewed by the flat-earth ideology, that he can’t see the proper context of verses, or he blatantly casts it aside.
As for clouds appearing to be behind the sun, they only appear that way.
Basically the sun is really really bright. So bright that in most photos and videos it just appears as something at the maximum brightness the camera can handle, so just appears as flat white. If there’s something in front of it that’s transparent enough to let though a lot of the sunlight, then that bit will be less bright, but still higher than the maximum brightness the camera can handle. So the camera will still see it as the same as the rest of the sun, bright white. This creates the illusion that partially transparent objects go behind the sun.
The upper cloud that goes “behind” the sun is transparent, so the sun shines through it. The middle and lower clouds are less transparent, so they partially block the sunlight enough to fall below the maximum brightness the camera can handle, hence they are visible, and seem to go in front (which is what all the clouds are really doing).

I can see why he and Nathan Roberts get along so well, and agree that the Bible says flat earth; because they are both illogical people.
