Biblical Proofs Of The Globe Earth

The False Doctrine of the Flat Earth by David Nikao

If you’re a flat earther, have you studied the context of the Bible verses which are being cited to proclaim “the Bible says flat earth”?

This book goes through all 240 verses that people like Nathan Roberts cite, to show you the proper context; because if you’re promoting this list, then you’re accountable for the explanations.

It gives a fresh perspective about the ‘firmament‘ of Genesis; the ‘circle‘ of Isaiah 40:22; the clay turned to the ‘seal‘ in Job 38:13-14; the ‘pillars‘ of 1 Samuel 2:8; the sun going forth in his ‘circuit‘ of Psalms 19:6; and much more.

If you know someone who believes that the Scriptures describes a domed, flat earth; it will help you understand their rationale in citing these verses.

If you’re a believer who’s researching the flat earth, this book is critical for you.

If you believe in the heliocentric universe, have you read what Moses, Job, David, and Isaiah; declared about the earth, the sun, and the stars? The Bible describes a sun that moves in a circuit, which has been stopped, and has been moved back. And it describes an earth that is fixed. The Bible is purely geocentric, and there is no Scriptural justification for the heliocentric model.

The Bible also describes the lower circular layers which hold back the fountains of the deep; the spherical layers of atmosphere around the globe earth; the constellations on the ecliptic which encircles the globe earth; and the celestial sphere of stars which surround the globe earth as a tent, as a tabernacle.

The real deception is the geocentric globe earth universe, which the enemy is hiding with false narratives of the heliocentric universe and the flat earth model.

This Bible study covers the most relevant verses that Nathan Roberts, Rob Skiba and other flat earthers cite; which they say prove that the earth is flat. If you have other verses which you believe prove that the earth is flat, please comment below.

Exegesis is the exposition or explanation of a text based on a careful, objective analysis.  The word exegesis literally means “to lead out of.” That means that the interpreter is led to his conclusions by following the text.

The opposite approach to Scripture is eisegesis, which is the interpretation of a passage based on a subjective, non-analytical reading. The word eisegesis literally means “to lead into,” which means the interpreter injects his own ideas into the text, making it mean whatever he wants.

My motive is not to defend a belief, but simply to find truth.  I had a heliocentric globe earth view before I began my research on the shape of the earth, because that’s what I was taught.  Now I’ve come to believe that the earth is a geocentric globe.  I pray that you will seek Scriptural truth, not to defend a belief.

What flat earthers do is proclaim that they have 200 verses which says that the earth is flat with a dome over it, and then they challenge people to show them verses which says that the earth is a globe; proclaiming that there are none.  So it seems like it’s 200 flat earth verses vs. 0 globe earth verses.

But their challenge is based on a false premise, that their explanations about those 200 Bible verses are valid.  This Bible study will show that the verses which point to a geocentric earth, and the sun moving around the earth; are valid.  But it will disprove that verses say that the earth is flat with a dome over it.

Once you see that, then you see that we’re on a level playing field. Pun intended! 😛

Then you see that we agree that the earth is the center of the universe, and that the enemy has hidden the truth from people, as it proves that there is a Creator and Designer of the universe.

Isaiah 40:22 is a key verse that flat earthers, and even geocentric globe earthers like Robert Sungenis, cite to prove their view.

But I disagree with both the flat earthers such as Rob Skiba and Robert Sungenis, who debated about this topic at the recent Flat Earth conference.

“It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:”

The ‘he’ is our Creator, who is not sitting upon the earth; so right there we can see that the circle is not describing the earth.  It reveals that his viewpoint makes people look like grasshoppers, so He is high above the earth; once again proving that He’s not sitting on the earth.

I believe that the “circle of the earth” is the ecliptic, which Elohim created when He stretched out the heavens as a curtain, and spread the stars out as a tabernacle for Him to dwell in.  He is sitting in the heavens, where the circle of the ecliptic displays the narrative of redemption through the constellations.

The word for ‘tent‘ can be rendered as ‘tabernacle‘; so it’s saying that our Creator is sitting in the tabernacle of the stars which He created.

The twelve constellations in the circle of the mazzaroth on the ecliptic circle have proclaimed His plan of redemption, the Gospel, from the beginning.

The circle of Isaiah 40:22 is the ecliptic, not the flat earth circle

Here’s what Elohim is pointing to, the Gospel in the Stars; which the enemy has perverted with explanations of pagan gods.

  • Virgo represents the seed of the woman, Messiah the Incarnate Son.
  • Libra represents the required price, Messiah the Redeemer.
  • Scorpio represents the mortal conflict, Messiah the Sufferer.
  • Sagittarius represents the final triumph, Messiah the Conqueror.
  • Capricorn represents life out of death, Messiah the Sacrifice.
  • Aquarius represents blessing out of victory, Messiah the Living Water.
  • Pisces represents deliverance out of bondage, Messiah the Liberator.
  • Aries represents glory out of humiliation, Messiah the Crowned Lamb.
  • Taurus represents His glorious coming, Messiah the Judge.
  • Gemini represents His rule on Earth, Messiah the King.
  • Cancer represents His possessions held secure, Messiah the Protector.
  • Leo represents His enemies destroyed, Messiah the Victor.

Let’s back up to get the context of the verse.  Elohim is declaring the glory of His creation.

“And to whom would you liken Ěl? And what likeness would you compare to Him? The workman moulds a graven image, and the goldsmith overspreads it with gold, and the silversmith casts silver chains.” Isaiah 40:18-19

Elohim is pointing to the circle of stars, which have declared the Gospel message from creation; which are more glorious than any creation of man.

“Did you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been declared to you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?” Isaiah 40:21

“Do you bring out the constellations (mazzaroth) in its season? Or do you lead the Bear with its sons.” Job 38:32

We see that Elohim tells Isaiah to look up to the circle of the stars (host) of the mazzaroth.

“Lift up your eyes on high and see. Who has created these? He who is bringing out their host by number, He calls them all by name, by the greatness of His might and the strength of His power – not one is missing.”  Isaiah 40:26

He appoints the number of the stars, He gives names to all of them.” Psalm 147:4

Here are a few examples of the stars being named:

  • Spica means the Branch.
  • Arcturus means He comes.
  • Pollux means who comes to suffer.
  • Antares means the wounded.
  • Sirius means the Prince.
  • Elnath means slain.
  • Procyon means the Redeemer.
  • Vega means He shall be exalted.
  • Regulus means regal, the King Star.

The same Hebrew word, chuwg, is used in Job 22:14 to describe the circuit of heaven, proclaiming that Elohim walks in the circle of heaven, not on the circle of a flat earth.

Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit (chuwg) of heaven.”

This matches Isaiah 40:22, that Elohim sits and walks on the circuit (circle) of heaven.  He is not sitting or walking on the circle flat earth, or a globe earth for that matter.

In Psalm 19:1-6, David described the sun travelling through the circuit (the line of the ecliptic), through the constellations of the mazzaroth, which are a tabernacle (tent); proclaiming the Gospel message.

“The heavens are proclaiming the esteem of Ěl; And the expanse is declaring the work of His hand. Day to day pours forth speech, And night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, and there are no words, Their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world. In them He set up a tent for the sun,  And it is like a bridegroom coming out of his room, It rejoices like a strong man to run the path. Its rising is from one end of the heavens, And its circuit to the other end; And naught is hidden from its heat.”

So we can clearly see that Elohim is referring to the circle of the ecliptic, which acts as a constant witness to those on earth, about His great power, and about His redemption plan; and the circle of Isaiah 40:22 is not about the shape of the earth.  Click here to read more about the Gospel In The Stars.

In what pattern do the stars travel?  Is it not in a circle?

Isaiah 40:22, Job 22:14, circle of the heavens

Here’s a summary meme, which gives a concise explanation of Isaiah 40:22, Psalm 19:1-6 and Job 22:14, pointing to the ecliptic circle:

Isaiah 40:22 circle is the ecliptic, not the flat earth

Here’s a Jewish Mosaic which shows the Sun of Righteousness holding a globe earth; and it is surrounded by the 12 constellations of the mazzaroth, the circle of stars which Isaiah was told to look up to.

Satan caused the pagans to pervert the story of the constellations and the sun god, but Messiah is the Sun of Righteousness (Malachi 4:2); and the 12 constellations proclaim the story of our redemption by Messiah.

Flat earthers cite Job 38:13-14, saying that flat earth was like clay that was pressed, so that it has raised edges on the outside.

“That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?  It is turned as clay to the seal; and they stand as a garment.”

So what’s the context of the verse?

It’s declaring that the Earth is changed, it is transformed, as the sun removes the darkness. The context is the light hitting the earth, as Job 38:12 is talking about the morning and dawn knowing its place.

“Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place;”

Job 38:15 is speaking about light being withheld.

“And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the high arm shall be broken.”

Job 38:19-20 is talking about darkness knowing its place, it’s boundary.

“Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof, That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof?”

How does dawn know it’s place?  How does darkness know it’s place, it’s boundary? The curve of the earth limits where the sun shines, it creates a delineation.

90 minutes after the sun goes down on the globe earth, the rays are hidden behind the earth, so that it is dark.

Dusk times hide the Suns rays, proving the globe earth

Civil twilight occurs when the Sun is less than 6 degrees below the horizon. In the morning, civil twilight begins when the Sun is 6 degrees below the horizon and ends at sunrise. In the evening, it begins at sunset and ends when the Sun reaches 6 degrees below the horizon.

Civil dawn is the moment when the geometric center of the Sun is 6 degrees below the horizon in the morning.

Civil dusk is the moment when the geometrical center of the Sun is 6 degrees below the horizon in the evening.

Astronomical twilight occurs when the Sun is between 12 degrees and 18 degrees below the horizon.

Astronomical dawn is the time when the geometric center of the Sun is at 18 degrees below the horizon. Before this time, the sky is absolutely dark.

Astronomical dusk is the instant when the geographical center of the Sun is at 18 degrees below the horizon. After this point, the sky is no longer illuminated.

There is nothing on the flat earth to create this boundary, no definite thing that stops the sun from shining on certain parts of the world, no delineation where darkness rules the night.

Job 38 is simply proclaiming that the wicked like the darkness, but as the sun moves, it’s light exposes them.

This graphic shows how a clay seal makes an impression when it’s turned over the clay.

Flat earthers cite Job 38:13-14, saying that flat earth was like clay that was pressed, so that it has raised edges on the outside.

Flat earthers cite verses about the ‘firmament’ to declare that it’s pointing to the glass dome over the flat earth.

Examples of verses that they cite are Genesis 1:6-8, Genesis 1:14-18, Genesis 1:20, Genesis 7:11, Genesis 8:2, Job 9:8, Job 26:7, Job 28:24, Job 37:3, Job 37:18, Psalm 19:1, Psalm 150:1, Proverbs 8:28, Isaiah 40:22, Isaiah 42:5, Isaiah 44:24, Isaiah 45:12, Isaiah 48:13, Ezekiel 1:22-26, Ezekiel 10:1, Daniel 12:3, Amos 9:6, Acts 7:56, Revelation 4:6, Revelation 6:14

Genesis 1:6-8 “And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.”

Nathan Roberts adds: With understanding the properties of water, it requires a physically hardened substance to keep it contained. Thus, a dome/firmament is not only logic, but is within the proper context of scripture.

This statement is absurd, because there is no “containment”, no physically hardened substance, over the waters of lakes and oceans, which stay down on the earth’s surface.

Genesis 1:8 clearly gives us the definition of the word “firmament” = “heaven. “And God called the firmament Heaven.”

A glass dome would not be called heaven.

The Hebrew word for heaven is 8064 shamayim: The sky in which the clouds move, and where the celestial bodies revolve.

The Hebrew word for firmament is raqiya` from 7554; properly, an expanse, i.e. the firmament or (apparently) visible arch of the sky:—firmament.

They point to the root word raqa, but it is simply describing something that is spread out, an expanse.

The Scriptures (ISR98) is a better translation than the King James, and it uses the word ‘expanse’ instead of ‘firmament’.

And Elohim said, “Let an expanse come to be in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.” And Elohim made the expanse, and separated the waters which were under the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse. And it came to be so.  And Elohim called the expanse ‘heavens.’ And there came to be evening and there came to be morning, the second day.

When the earth was formed there was no atmosphere, no protection.  So the heavens were created, the protecting atmosphere was stretched out, which provides an expansive area for the clouds and the birds of the air.

Genesis 1:14-18 “And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:”

The Hebrew word that was chosen is not saying that the lights would be “inside” or “under” the firmament, it’s saying it’s “in” the actual firmament itself.  Are lights in the glass dome itself? No! They’re in the expanse of heaven.

Once again the ISR98 renders the proper word, expanse, in Genesis 1:14-18.

Let lights come to be in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and appointed times, and for days and years, and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth. And it came to be so. And Elohim made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night, and the stars.  And Elohim set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And Elohim saw that it was good.

Genesis 1:20 “And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.”

Are the birds in the glass dome itself? No! There are in the “open firmament” not a closed dome. If firmament was pointing to a glass dome, then it would read “and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open glass dome of heaven.  How can a glass down be open?

The ‘heavens’ have three basic levels:

The first level refers to the sky, the protected expanse above the earth. This is where the birds fly in the expanse of heaven (the firmament), and the clouds exist which store water.

The second level refers to the night skies or what we would call outer space; in which the stars and constellations and planets exist.

The third heaven refers to the unseen heaven where Elohim dwells.

Genesis 7:11 “In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.”

Are we to believe that a glass dome has windows?  Seriously?

It’s simply saying that the waters from the depths of the earth overflowed and also that the clouds poured down.

Malachi 3:10 uses the same Hebrew word for “windows.” “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”

Genesis 8:2 “The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;”

If Genesis 7:11 was pointing to literal windows on a glass dome being opened, then we would think that this verse would say that they were “closed”  But it uses the word “stopped” which simply says that it stopped raining.

Job 9:8 “Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.”

The Hebrew word for “spreadeth” is 5186. natah: to stretch or spread out; by implication, to bend away (including moral deflection); used in a great variety of application (as follows):—+ afternoon, apply, bow (down, – ing), carry aside, decline, deliver, extend, go down, be gone, incline, intend, lay, let down, offer, outstretched, overthrown, pervert, pitch, prolong, put away, shew, spread (out), stretch (forth, out), take (aside), turn (aside, away), wrest, cause to yield.

That is the same concept of we saw in Genesis 1:7, where the “firmament,” the heavens, were spread out.

Job 26:7 “He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.”

Nathan adds: From the “north” is being “stretched” over what empty place? North seems to be pointing to the north pole / the north star Polaris; which can apply to a flat earth or a globe earth.

Job 26:10, “He hath compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end.”

They proclaim that this is describing the ice ring that surrounds the flat earth, which serves to keep the waters in place.

Job 26:8 tells us that “the waters” that are being referred to are not the seas and oceans, but the waters of heaven in the clouds.

“He bindeth up the waters in his thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them.”

At one time the entire earth enjoyed a warm tropical environment and there was enhanced oxygen in the atmosphere. Organisms grew larger and lived longer as a result.

Many creationists have attributed this to a water vapor canopy that was created by Elohim on the second day, the “waters above the firmament” (Genesis 1:7).  This theory holds that a “vast blanket of invisible water vapor, translucent to the light of the stars but productive of a marvelous greenhouse effect which maintained mild temperatures from pole to pole, thus preventing air-mass circulation and the resultant rainfall (Genesis 2:5).

It would certainly have had the further effect of efficiently filtering harmful radiation from space, markedly reducing the rate of somatic mutations in living cells, and, as a consequence, drastically decreasing the rate of aging and death.”(Morris, Henry, Scientific Creationism, 1984, p. 211.)

Citing evidence of denser atmosphere in the past, Morris postulated that this vapor layer could have dramatically increased the atmospheric pressure on the surface of the early earth, again contributing to a healthier environment (like a natural hyperbaric chamber).

Later, the canopy would have collapsed in the form of rain (the “windows of heaven” in Genesis 7:11), contributing to the Flood water, and resulting in the dramatic drop-off in longevity after the deluge.

Job 26:10, "He hath compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end."

Now we can see how water was ‘compassed’ around the globe earth, which was then opened up to flood the earth, coming to an end after 40 days and nights.

Water is still abundant as a vapor in the heavens, as it acts as one of the cleaning systems of the heavens.  UV light from the sun hits the H20 vapors, to create Hydroxyls (HO• and H•), which act to scrub and cleanse the earth’s environment.

Job 28:24 “For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven;”

This verse is simply proclaiming that Elohim’s knowledge is unlimited, and He is all-knowing; which applies on either a flat earth or a globe earth.

Job 37:3 “He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.”

This verse is simply proclaiming that Elohim’s voice was directed at the inhabitants of the earth. It most certainly is not proclaiming that the earth is flat.

Job 37:18 “Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?”

Flat earthers say that the “molten looking glass” is the hard dome, but this verse says that the sky is as a “molten looking glass” and we know that the sky is not solid.

The Hebrew word for sky is 7834 shachaq; a powder (as beaten small): by analogy, a thin vapor; by extension, the firmament:—cloud, small dust, heaven, sky.

It says “as a molten looking glass” so it’s a simile that’s not declaring that the sky is a glass dome.  The verse is simply declaring the glory of a clear sky, which allows you to see the many stars in the heavens, which reflects the glory of Elohim’s creation.

They did not have glass mirrors in Job’s day, so they beat metal into sheets and polished it, to be able to see their reflection.   The King James translators were describing a mirror, as they had glass in their days.  It’s simply pointing to the heavens which shine down on us, reflecting the glory of creation.

Here’s some other Bible versions to help get a sense of what it’s saying:

The Scriptures (ISR) read, “Did you, with Him, spread out the clouds, strong as a hard mirror?”

Berean Study Bible, “can you, like Him, spread out the skies to reflect the heat like a mirror of bronze?”

Douay-Rheims Bible, “Thou perhaps hast made the heavens with him, which are most strong, as if they were of molten brass.”

Young’s Literal Translation, “Thou hast made an expanse with Him For the clouds — strong as a hard mirror!”

Psalm 104:2 tells us that the heavens are stretched out like a curtain, “Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain,”

Jeremiah 10:12 tells us that it’s the heavens that are stretched out, “God made the earth by His power; He established the world by His wisdom and stretched out the heavens by His understanding.”

Psalm 19:1 “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.”

Read Psalm 19:1-6 and you see that it’s pointing to the glory of the stars in heaven. It’s talking about the 12 constellations of the Mazzaroth which encircle the earth on the ecliptic, and in which the Sun travels to tell the redemption story.

Once again the word firmament is not pointing to a glass dome, but to the expanse of the heavens.

Psalm 150:1 “Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.”

Does that mean to praise him in the hard glass dome of his power?  No!   It’s declaring that we should praise the Creator of the starry heavens.

Proverbs 8:28 “When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:”

The Hebrew word for clouds is 7834 shachaq; a powder (as beaten small): by analogy, a thin vapor; by extension, the firmament:—cloud, small dust, heaven, sky.

That word is saying that the clouds are part of the firmament, the heaven, the sky; which against shows that the firmament is not a glass dome.

Isaiah 44:24 “Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;”

Once again, Scripture is proclaiming that it is the heavens that were stretched, not a glass dome.

Isaiah 45:12 “I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.”

Nathan adds: This verse, Isaiah 45:12, is in agreement with Job 26:7 and Job 37:18, as well as, there is no contradiction within the inspired words of Yahuah. Only a fool is willing to declare Yahuah a liar by stating that His hands have NOT stretched out the heavens.” Let Yahuah be true and every man a liar.” (Romans 3:4)

Once again, Scripture is proclaiming that it is the heavens that were stretched out, not a glass dome.  A fool is someone who misrepresents what the Word of Yahuah is saying!

Isaiah 48:13 “Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.”

Nathan adds:  What is being “spanned” by Yahuah in the heavens?

The answer to that question is that this verse is saying that Elohim’s hand stretched out, meaning that He extended the heavens.   Once again, Scripture is proclaiming that it is the heavens that were stretched out, not a glass dome.

Ezekiel 1:22-26 “And the likeness of the firmament upon the heads of the living creature was as the colour of the terrible crystal, stretched forth over their heads above. And under the firmament were their wings straight, the one toward the other: every one had two, which covered on this side, and every one had two, which covered on that side, their bodies. And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, the voice of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings.  And there was a voice from the firmament that was over their heads, when they stood, and had let down their wings. And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.”

Does Elohim’s throne sit on top of the glass dome?  No.  Other verses tell us that he walks the circuit of heaven, the circle, the ecliptic.

Ezekiel 10:1 “Then I looked, and, behold, in the firmament that was above the head of the cherubims there appeared over them as it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne.”

Like Ezekiel 1, it is not describing the heavens that we see, with the sun and moon in it; but rather another expanse around the throne of our Creator.”

Daniel 12:3 “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.”

Are we to believe that a flat earth dome has brightness? No!

This verse is telling you what the firmament (raqiya) is the expanse with the stars in it, not a glass dome.  It’s clearly pointing to the bright, shining stars in expanse of heaven!

The saints are portrayed as stars, which shine in the heaven of our Creator.

Amos 9:6 “It is he that buildeth his stories in the heaven, and hath founded his troop in the earth; he that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name.”

Note: The Septuagint, the Greek Old Testament, has a completely different reading, “It is he that builds up to the sky, and established his promise on earth; who calls the water of the sea, and pours it out on the face of the earth; the Lord Almighty is his name.”

Acts 7:56 “And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.”

Nathan adds: If the “heavens” are only the open expanse/sky, why would it have to be re-opened? What is being “opened?” Perhaps, the firmament?

Opening the heavens simply means that a vision of Messiah sitting in heaven next to His Father, was given to Stephen before he was stoned to death.

Revelation 4:6 “And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.”

This verse is giving a vision of heaven, and has nothing to do with the shape of the earth.

Revelation 6:14 “And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.”

This verse is using symbolic language to point to the calamity that was befalling the pagan Roman Empire.  Mountains and islands symbolize the groups of people who were affected by the decline and fall of the Roman Empire. Read Revelation 6 – 6th Seal

These verses affirm that it was the heavens that were stretched out, not a glass dome:

Jeremiah 10:12 “He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.”

Jeremiah 51:15 “He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding.”

Nathan adds: If anyone is causing a divide/wedge over the true existence of the dome/firmament it is the obstinance of the man’s refusal to accept God’s Word for His firmament.

You can clearly see that it is Nathan who is refusing to accept Elohim’s Word’ that the firmament is the expanse, the heavens; in which the stars declare the glory of Elohim.

The sun and moon are in the expanse, in the heavens.  The ecliptic circle surrounded the earth like a tent, like a tabernacle in which Elohim dwells; which tells the Gospel story day and night.

Flat earthers point to the giant tree of Daniel 4 and proclaim that it proves that the earth is flat, as everyone could see it.

Daniel 4:11 “The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth:”

Daniel 4:20 “The tree that thou sawest, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto the heaven, and the sight thereof to all the earth;”

This is just another example of flat earthers taking a verse completely out of context to try to prove their beliefs.  This passage is not talking about the design of the earth.

The ‘tree in the midst of the earth‘ that Daniel was describing was King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, who reigned over the kingdoms of the earth. He was humbled more than any man, and made to eat grass as the cattle of the field, which at the end of his punishment, caused him to praise his Creator.

How flat-earthers don’t bother to read the rest of the chapter, I cannot understand.  Verses 20-22 tell you who the tree represents, King Nebuchadnezzar.

The tree that thou sawest, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to all the earth; whose leaves were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was food for all; under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and upon whose branches the birds of the heavens had their habitation: it is thou, O king, that art grown and become strong; for thy greatness is grown, and reacheth unto heaven, and thy dominion to the end of the earth.

And besides that, everyone on the flat earth can’t see the sun, which is supposedly 3,000 miles high,  so how would they all see a giant tree?

Flat earthers point to Satan tempting Messiah, saying that from the high mountain, they could see all of the earth, proving that it’s flat.

Matthew 4:8 “Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;”

When Satan took Messiah to a high mountain and showed Him all of the kingdoms of the world; there is no mountain on Earth which can see all of the kingdoms of the world, so it doesn’t prove that the Earth is flat.

He was either pointing to that region of the Earth, Judea and the surrounding nations, which were controlled by the mighty Roman Empire.  Or he was able to give a kind of visionary representation of all of the nations of the Earth.

Flat earthers point to Revelation 1:7, saying that everyone will see Messiah return, proving that the earth is flat.

“Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.”

There is no place on the flat earth where Messiah could return, that every person in every country could see.   Can you see the sky over Jerusalem from where you live? No!

Flat earthers say that the Earth has corners, which proves that the earth is flat.

Flat earthers cite Isaiah 40:22 to proclaim that the flat earth is a circle, “the circle of the earth,” which of course has no corners.

So to make the following verses work, they add corners to the outside edges, which are outside of the dome.  That makes no sense and it negates their point about Isaiah 40:22.  You can’t have it both ways!

Let’s see what the verses are really proclaiming.

Jeremiah 9:26 “Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that are in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness: for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.

Are we to believe that Elohim is going to punish people who live in the corners of the flat earth, which is outside of the dome?  No!

Jeremiah 25:23 “Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that are in the utmost corners,”

Are we to believe that these people live in the corners of the flat earth, which is outside of the dome?  No! This verse is simply saying that these people were from distant places, such as Edom, Arabia and Mesopotamia.

“And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.” Isaiah 11:12

Were the outcasts of Israel and the dispersed of Judah living outside the dome, on the corners of the flat earth?  No, that is absurd!

Isaiah 11:11 tells you where the people had been scattered: “And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.”

Psalm 107:2-3 tells us that the redeemed saints are gathered from the four corners of the earth; east, west, north and south. “Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy; And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.”

Zechariah 8:7 points to the saints being saved from the east and the west.  “Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country;”

In Nathan Roberts “Flat Earth Where are the 4 corners of the earth on the Gleason map?” video, he cited Isaiah 11:12 as an example of a verse that points to four corners, and he said that “when looking at this word “corners” you can come up with the word “quarter.”

Hebrew word 3671 kanaph; an edge or extremity; specifically (of a bird or army) a wing, (of a garment or bed-clothing) a flap, (of the earth) a quarter, (of a building) a pinnacle:—+ bird, border, corner, end, feather(-ed), X flying, + (one an-)other, overspreading, X quarters, skirt, X sort, uttermost part, wing).

The problem is that the only Bible version that uses the word “quarters” is the NIV, and it’s not a good word-for-word translation.

We you look at Nathan’s explanation of the four quarters, you see that the four corners meet at the North Pole.  Are we to believe that the remnant are to be gathered from the area of the North Pole?

Nathan Roberts Flat Earth Where are the 4 corners of the earth on the Gleason map? video

Isaiah 11:11 tells you where the remnant of Elohim’s people had been scattered, and they were not from areas that were near the North Pole.

“And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.”

So even though his explanation creates four corners on the flat earth map, it’s an invalid explanation. The obvious explanation is that the remnant of Elohim were dispersed throughout the region; so they were east, west, north and south; the four directions.

Is it not obvious that the four corners are referring the four primary directions; east, west, north and south?

Note: To proclaim that the flat earth has four corners, most flat earthers use supposed flat earth maps (which are really, north-polar azimuthal equidistant projection maps of the globe earth), which have the four corners on the outside of the dome.

Most flat earthers use supposed flat earth maps (which are really, north-polar azimuthal equidistant projection maps of the globe earth), which have the four corners on the outside of the dome.

Either way, the Israelites aren’t gathered from four corners which are outside of the dome, or from the four corners which meet at the North Pole.

Ezekiel 7:2 says “Also, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD unto the land of Israel; An end, the end is come upon the four corners of the land.”

It’s pointing to the land of Judea and the destruction of it, as Elohim’s judgment against them. So it’s simply declaring that judgment is coming to the whole land of Judea.

Revelation 7:1 “And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.”

Are we to believe that the angels are holding back the four winds from the four corners of the flat earth, which is outside of the dome?  No!

Are we to believe that the angels are holding back the four winds from the four corners of the North Pole?  No!

Revelation‬ ‭20:8 “And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.”

Are we supposed to believe that the armies of Gog and Magog are coming from the four corners of the flat earth, which is outside of the dome?  No!

Are we supposed to believe that the armies of Gog and Magog are coming from the North Pole?  No!

These verses about the earth having four corners most certainly don’t point to a flat earth with corners!

Flat earthers say that the Earth has ends, which proves that the earth is flat.

Flat earthers will tell you that a flat earth has ends, at the ice wall; whereas a globe earth doesn’t have any ends.

The irony of course is that flat earthers have no photos of the supposed end of the Earth or where the supposed glass dome meets the land.

The word ‘ends’ can mean farthest and uttermost.   So let’s look at these verses and see if they are pointing to the end of the flat earth, the ice wall.

Deuteronomy 28:49 “The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;”

This verses foretold that the Babylonians and Romans would come from afar, to desolate Jerusalem.  Did they come from the ice wall?  No!

Deuteronomy 28:64 “And the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.”

This verse is pointing to the Father scattering the Israelites from one end of the earth even until the other.  Did He put some on one side of the ice wall, and others on the other side of the Earth on the ice wall?  No!

Deuteronomy 33:17, “with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth:”

It’s describing the Father causing the Israelites to push the Canaanites to the end of the land of Canaan; not to some ice wall.

1 Samuel 2:10, “The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: the LORD shall judge the ends of the earth”

Are we to believe that the Father judging the ice wall of the flat earth?

Rob Skiba cites Job 28:24, “For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven;”

This verse is simply pointing to Elohim’s providence, that is infinite and universal, as He sees all things.  It’s not proclaiming that the earth is flat or a globe.

Rob Skiba cites Job 37:3, “He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.”

Are we to believe that Elohim is directing lighting out of the ends of the ‘flat’ earth, out of the ice ring?

Job 38:13 “That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?”

Are we to believe that the wicked people were shaken out of the ends of the ‘flat’ earth, out of the ice ring?  That’s ridiculous!

Psalm 46:9 “He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.”

This verse talks about Elohim “making wars to cease unto the end of the earth.” If the earth was flat, the wars would have to end at the ice wall; so it makes the statement nonsensical.  It’s simply saying that it was a time of peace in the war, with no wars going on.

Psalm 61:2, “From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”

Is David crying from the end of the (flat) earth, from the ice wall?  That’s absurd.

Psalm 67:7 “God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.”

Does the end of the flat earth, the ice wall, fear Elohim?

Psalm 98:3 “He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.”

Has the ends of the (flat) earth, the ice wall, seen the salvation of Elohim?

Proverbs 8:29  “When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth.”

This verse doesn’t says that the earth has ends.

Proverbs 17:24 “Wisdom is before him that hath understanding; but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.”

Are the eyes of a fool at the ends of the flat earth, at the ends of the ice wall?

Isaiah 5:26 “And he will lift up an ensign to the nations from far, and will hiss unto them from the end of the earth: and, behold, they shall come with speed swiftly.”

Is Elohim going to hiss unto the nations from the end of the flat earth, the ice wall?  No!  He was saying that He was going to send the Babylonians against His people, for disobeying Him.

Isaiah 26:15 “Thou hast increased the nation, O LORD, thou hast increased the nation: thou art glorified: thou hadst removed it far unto all the ends of the earth.”

Is Elohim going to send His people to the end of the flat earth, the ice wall? No!

Isaiah 41:5 “The isles saw it, and feared; the ends of the earth were afraid, drew near, and came.”

Were the ends of the flat earth, the ice wall, afraid? No!

Isaiah 41:9 “Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.”

Is Elohim going to take the Israelites from the end of the flat earth, the ice wall? No!

Isaiah 43:5-6 points to the House of Israel being gathered from the ends of the earth; east, west, north and south.

“Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;  I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth.”

Isaiah 43:5-6 points to the seed, the House of Israel, being gathered from the four corners of the earth; east, west, north and south.

The “ends of the earth” are not the supposed ice wall that encircles the flat earth, or where the supposed glass dome meets the earth.

Isaiah 45:22 “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.”

Is Elohim telling  he ends of the flat earth, the ice wall, to look to Him and be saved?  No!

Isaiah 48:20 “Go ye forth of Babylon, flee ye from the Chaldeans, with a voice of singing declare ye, tell this, utter it even to the end of the earth; say ye, The LORD hath redeemed his servant Jacob.”

Is Elohim the Jews to flee Babylon and go to the ends of the flat earth, the ice wall?  No!

Isaiah 52:10 “The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God”

Is the ends of the flat earth, the ice wall, going to see the salvation of Elohim? No!

Jeremiah 16:19 “O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.”

Are the gentiles going to come from the end of the flat earth, the ice wall?  No!

Jeremiah 25:31“A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD.”

Will Elohim send a noise (of wars) from the end of the flat earth, the ice wall?  No!

Jeremiah 25:33 “And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.”

Were there slain laid out on the earth from one end of the flat earth ice wall to the other end of the flat earth ice wall? No!  It’s talking about the bodies of slain Jews lying across the land of Judea.  The word earth is pointing to a particular area, a country, not the whole world.

Daniel 4:22 “It is thou, O king, that art grown and become strong: for thy greatness is grown, and reacheth unto heaven, and thy dominion to the end of the earth.”

It’s pointing to the dominion of King Nebuchadnezzar, not to the end of the flat earth, the ice wall.

Matthew 12:42 / Luke 11:31 “The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.”

The queen of the south didn’t come from the uttermost part of the flat earth, the ice wall.  She was from Sheba, which was a city and province of Arabia Felix.

Rob Skiba cites Matthew 24:31, “And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”

It’s pointing to the four winds of heaven, not the earth.  The four winds are east, west, north and south.  It’s simply saying that the elect will be gathered from all over.

Do you see how ridiculous these examples are?  They’re not pointing to the edge of the supposed flat Earth, to an ice wall. Nathan has taken them out of their proper context, to falsely declare that they point to a flat earth.

Flat earthers says that the Earth has Pillars, and hangs on nothing, which proves that the earth is flat.

First, let’s apply logic.  When constructing a large structure, a foundation is created and then the pillars are mounted on top of the foundation, to support something above them.

Does it make any sense to place pillars under the flat earth, since the pillars would not be mounted on top of a foundation, but rather would sit in open space? No.

The word ‘pillars‘ in 1 Samuel 2:8 is referring to leaders of the earth, not physical pillars that support the flat earth.  If someone says that a person is a ‘pillar in the community’, it means that they’re a leader.

1 Samuel 2:8 “He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD’S, and he hath set the world upon them.”

The first part of 1 Samuel 2:8 tells you that the latter part is not talking about the creation/design of the earth.

Rather it is talking about the leaders of the earth, the pillars, who Elohim controls to uphold civil order in the world.

The previous verse is talking about raising people up in status, and making them rich leaders.

The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up.” 1 Samuel 2:7

The next few verses are talking about the saints being preserve from the wicked, and the adversaries of the lord being broken to pieces.

Job 9:6 “Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.”

The same Hebrew word, 5982 ammuwd, is used in verses which point to a pillar of fire, a pillar of the cloud, and the pillars of heaven; so there is no proof that there are actual pillars underneath of a flat earth.

If the earth is shaken out of her place, would the leaders of the earth not tremble?

Job 26:7 “He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.”

That doesn’t prove that the earth is flat or a globe.  It just means that it’s held in place.

Psalm 75:3 “The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah.”

It’s talking about people, the inhabitants, the righteous; who will be preserved, though the earth is laid waste.  Once again, pillars is pointing to leaders.

Revelation 3:12 “Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.”

This verse is saying that the overcomers will be made leaders, pillars, in heaven.

Jeremiah 1:18 says the Jeremiah is a pillar/leader, “For, behold, I have made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land.”

Galatians 2:9 shows that leaders are symbolized as pillars,

“And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.”

1 Timothy 3:15 says that the church of Elohim is a pillar,

“But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.”

So we can clearly see that none of these verses that Nathan cited are talking about the physical design of the earth, but to the leaders of the earth, whom Elohim controls.

Rob Skiba cites Job 26:11 “The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his reproof.” But that verses is not talking about the pillars of the earth, but the pillars of heaven.

Flat Earthers cite these verses to proclaim that the earth is flat.

Job 38:4-6,“Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?  Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;”

Where are the foundations of the circle flat earth?  Where is the corner stone be set?

Is Elohim pointing to a literal foundation, to a literal corner stone of the earth?  Elohim is simply saying that He fastened it all together and fixed it in space. This verse doesn’t prove that the earth is flat or a globe.

2 Samuel 22:8 “Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.”

It’s obviously poetic language, as the foundations of heaven didn’t really move or shake.  The context of the verses is the deliverance of his servant, and the destruction of his enemies.

Rob Skiba cites Isaiah 13:10,13 “For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.”

The context of the verse is not talking about the physical earth, it’s using symbolic language.  Isaiah 13:17 tells us that it’s pointing to the political upheaval of the Medes being sent by Elohim to attack the Babylonians.  The sun was King Nebuchadnezzar.

Rob Skiba cites Isaiah 34:4, saying that it’s talking about the literal heavens, and thus proves that the earth is flat:  “And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.”

Isaiah 34:2 gives the context of the passage, “For the indignation of the LORD is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter.”

Elohim was about to express his wrath against all the nations which are opposed to his people.  Leaders can be symbolized as stars, so it’s pointing to the leaders, the princes and nobles, who had opposed Elohim and his people, proclaiming that their kingdom would be destroyed, rolled up like a scroll, end of the story.

It’s amazing to see how people take passages out of their proper context, to justify their flat earth beliefs!

Isaiah 24:18 “And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake.”

We have earthquakes which shake the earth, so this verse doesn’t prove that the earth is flat or a globe.

Revelation 6:12-14 “And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.”

Earthquakes in the prophecy represent great political upheavals.  The earthquake of Revelation 6:12-13 was pointing to political upheaval in the declaring Roman Empire; as a result of the first five seal judgments; which lead to the decline and fall of the Roman Empire.

Eastern Emperor Constantine defeated Diocletian’s army in 312 A.D., which ended the persecutions. Diocletian (the Sun) was so panic stricken, he died insane. Constantine defeated emperors Maxentius and Licinius to become sole ruler of both west and east by 324 A.D. The Roman leaders (stars) fell and their power receded as a scroll. The mountains and islands that were moved out of place, were the countries and people that were affected by this political change. Read Revelation 6 – 6th Seal Earthquake

Rob Skiba cites Matthew 24:29, “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:”

Once again, Rob fails to understand the symbolic language of prophecy.  It’s not pointing to the literal sun, moon and stars; but to the end of the Jewish leadership system in 70 A.D.; when Messiah sent the Romans to destroy their temple, desolate Jerusalem, and kill the Jews or take them captive and sell them as slaves.

The High Priest was the sun, the Sanhedrin was the moon, and the priests were the stars.  They were darkened indeed!

The ‘sun, moon and stars’ are symbolic of earthly dignitaries, great political authorities and great lights in the political or religious heavens.

We know this because in Genesis 37:8-10, Joseph had a dream, ..”And this time, the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to me. So he told it to his father and his brothers; and his father rebuked him and said to him, “What is this dream that you have dreamed? Shall your mother and I and your brothers indeed come to bow down to the earth before you?” It was symbolic of the power structure.

Here are examples which are clearly not about the literal sun, moon and stars.

Isaiah 13:10 is referring to the Babylonian leaders being removed from power by the Medo-Persians.

For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.

Isaiah 13:17 confirms this with, “Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them,”

Isaiah 34:3-5 foretold the destruction of the Edomites and other nations which were enemies.

Their slain also shall be cast out, and their stink shall come up out of their carcases, and the mountains shall be melted with their blood. And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree. For my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment.”

Ezekiel 32:6-8 points to the Babylonians desolating Egypt, removing the Pharaoh (Sun) and his leaders (moon) from power.

I will also water with thy blood the land wherein thou swimmest, even to the mountains; and the rivers shall be full of thee. And when I shall put thee out, I will cover the heaven, and make the stars thereof dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light. All the bright lights of heaven will I make dark over thee, and set darkness upon thy land, saith the Lord GOD.”

Applying the symbols to Matthew 24:29, we can see that the Jewish leaders having their power structure removed, is clearly indicated.

As a result of the ‘people of the prince‘ of Daniel 9, the Roman army of Prince Titus; the temple and Jewish leadership system were desolated. The High Priest was the Sun, the Sanhedrin Council was the Moon, and the many rabbis were the stars.

Mark 13:24-25 says:

But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.

This fulfilled the prophecy in Daniel 12:7, that said that the power of the holy people, the Jewish leadership, would be scattered.

And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

The disciples would have clearly understood that it was symbolic.

And this very destruction of Jerusalem is represented by the Prophet Joel by showing wonders in heaven and in earth – darkening the sun, and turning the moon into blood.

“And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.” Joel 2:30-31

Read The Sun, Moon And Stars of Matthew 24:29

Rob Skiba cites Revelation 9:1 “And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.  And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.”

The 5th Trumpet represents the Elohim using the Arabian (Mohammedan) army against the Western Roman Empire from 612-762 A.D., which is 150 years (5 months = 150 days). They wore turbans (crowns of gold); they had beards (faces of men); they had long hair like women; they wore chain-mail (breast-plates of iron); and they were fierce (teeth of lions). The falling star was Mohammed, their leader; the smoke out of Satan’s bottomless pit of lies is the Qur’an.

It’s not describing a real pit of the earth. Read Revelation 9 – 5th Trumpet

So once again, Nathan Roberts and Rob Skiba fail to understand the context of a passage; and they incorrectly cite it to say that it proclaims that the earth is flat.

Here’s verses which point to the planets, which appear along the ecliptic plane and in the twelve constellations of the Mazzaroth.

Some flat earthers proclaim that the Bible doesn’t speak of planets.

Acts 14:12 cites people who associated Barnabas and Paul with planets, which meant that they esteemed them as gods.

“And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker.”

2 Kings 23:5. Some Bible versions rendered planets as the constellations, as it’s pointing to the Mazzaroth, the ecliptic plan on which the sun, moon and planets, appear in the twelve constellations.

“And he put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah, and in the places round about Jerusalem; them also that burned incense unto Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the host of heaven.”

Ecliptic: the path that the sun moves through the heavens during the course of a year, as it passes through the 12 constellations of the Mazzaroth. The ecliptic plane is the plane of the orbit of the planets, which can also be seen in the 12 constellations.

Here are verses which point to the geocentric position of the earth, but they do not prove that the earth is flat.

The Sun moves, not the Earth: Genesis 15:12, Genesis 15:17, Genesis 19:23, Genesis 32:31, Exodus 17:12, Exodus 22:3, Exodus 22:26, Leviticus 22:7, Numbers 2:3, Numbers 21:11, Numbers 34:15, Deuteronomy 4:41, Deuteronomy 4:47, Deuteronomy 11:30, Deuteronomy 16:6, Deuteronomy 23:11, Deuteronomy 24:13, Deuteronomy 24:15, Joshua 1:15, Joshua 8:29, Joshua 10:27, Joshua 12:1, Joshua 13:5, Joshua 19:12, Joshua 19:27, Joshua 19:34, Judges 8:13, Judges 9:33, Judges 14:18, Judges 19:14, Judges 20:43, 2 Samuel 2:24, 2 Samuel 3:35, 2 Samuel 23:4, 1 Kings 22:36, 2 Chronicles 18:34, Psalm 50:1, Psalm 113:3, Ecclesiastes 1:5, Isaiah 41:25, Isaiah 45:6, Isaiah 59:19, Jeremiah 15:9, Daniel 6:14, Amos 8:9, Jonah 4:8, Micah 3:6, Nahum 3:17, Malachi 1:11, Matthew 5:45, Mark 16:2, Ephesians 4:26, James 1:11

All of these verses describe the sun rising up or going down.  Does the sun ever  ‘rise up’ or ‘go down’ on the flat Earth model?  No!  They proclaim that it moves in a circle above the flat surface; so the words rise up and goes down cannot apply to the flat Earth model sun.

“And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.” Genesis 15:12

“And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.” Genesis 15:17

“For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles;” Malachi 1:11

Ecclesiastes 1:5 points to the sun rising in the same place where it arose before; which seems to point to the sun circling the globe earth and rising again at the same place as the day before.

“The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose.”

These verses point to the sun moving:

“So let all thine enemies perish, O LORD: but let them that love him be as the sun when he goeth forth in his might. And the land had rest forty years.” Judges 5:31

Its rising is from one end of the heavens, And its circuit to the other end; And naught is hidden from its heat.” Psalm 19:1-6

As for the sun moving and not the Earth, the same thing can be explained on a geocentric globe earth; and the sun does rise and set around a globe earth.

These verses proclaim that the sun stopped moving, telling us that it was previously in motion.

2 Kings 20:8-9, “And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, What shall be the sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up into the house of the LORD the third day?  And Isaiah said, This sign shalt thou have of the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees?”

2 Kings 20:10-11, “And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees.  And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the LORD: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz.”

It’s saying that the sign that King Hezekiah would live longer, is that the sundial shadow would move backward by ten degrees.  The earth could be moved to cause this change or the sun could be moved, so let’s read other verses which point to the same event.

Joshua 10:12-14, “Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.  And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.  And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel”

This passage clearly says that the sun stood still, which has not happened on any day before or after it; telling us that it is the sun that is normally moving.

Isaiah 38:4-8, “Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying, Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.  And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city.  And this shall be a sign unto thee from the LORD, that the LORD will do this thing that he hath spoken;  Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down.”

The passage is referring to the same time as 2 Kings 20:10-11, but it proclaims that the sun returned ten degrees, proving that it was the sun that was moved back, not the earth.

Habakkuk 3:11, “The sun and moon stood still in their habitation: at the light of thine arrows they went, and at the shining of thy glittering spear.”

It’s proclaiming that the sun was stopped, as to extend the daytime; to allow the Israelites to fight their battle; answering the prayer of Joshua, when he fought against the Amorites.

The moon is a luminous body, meaning it reflects the sun’s light.

“And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. Genesis 1:16

The Hebrew word for ‘lights’ is 3974 ma’owr; properly, a luminous body or luminary, i.e. (abstractly) light (as an element): figuratively, brightness, i.e.cheerfulness; specifically, a chandelier:—bright, light.

It does not say that the moon creates it’s own light.

These verses points to the sun illuminating the moon.

“Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound.” Isaiah 30:26

“And when I shall put thee out, I will cover the heaven, and make the stars thereof dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light.” Ezekiel 32:7

These verses proclaim that the Earth is fixed and immovable.

These verses point to a stationary, geocentric Earth; but they say nothing about its shape, so they are not proofs that it’s flat.

1 Chronicles 16:30 “Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved.”

The context is not the physical earth fearing Elohim, or the physical earth rejoicing, “Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The LORD reigneth.” 1 Chronicles 16:31

Psalm 33:9 “For he spake, and it was (done); he commanded, and it stood fast.

The context is not pointing to the earth standing fast, but that the inhabitants of the world should revere Elohim, “Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.” Psalm 33:8

Psalm 93:1 “The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.”

The context is pointing to Elohim’s government of this world, His leaders, which cannot be moved; so it’s not talking about the physical earth.

Psalm 96:10 “Say among the heathen that the LORD reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously.”

Read Psalm 96. Does it have anything to do with the creation of the earth or the design of the earth? No!

It a Psalm of David, a prophecy of the coming of the Messiah, and of the calling of the Gentiles that believe in him:

The word for world is tebel = the earth (as moist and therefore inhabited); by extension, the globe; by implication, its inhabitants; specifically, a particular land, as Babylonia, Palestine:—habitable part, world.

What is the particular land of Scripture? Jerusalem, mount Zion.

The next verse talks about the earth, that it should be glad. Should we take that to mean the physical earth should be glad? No!

Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof.” Psalm 96:11

Psalm 96 is not declaring a fixed earth. It’s saying that the kingdom of Elohim, made up of those who have a covenant relationship with Him through the Son, will not be moved. And that they will rejoice at His righteous judgment.

Psalm 104:5 “Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.”

This verse doesn’t point to a flat earth or a globe earth, as both would have foundations; a place, an abode, a dwelling place.  The Hebrew word for foundations is 4349 makown; properly, a fixture, i.e. a basis; generally a place, especially as an abode:—foundation, habitation, (dwelling-, settled) place.

Psalm 119:89-90 “For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.”

Elohim establishing the earth doesn’t declare that it’s flat or a globe.

Isaiah 14:7 “The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.”

Do we really think that this verse is proclaiming that the whole physical earth is at rest and quiet, or that it’s proclaiming that the earth is flat? No!

The context is that the kingdom of Babylon, which had oppressed many on earth, had been conquered by the Medes; so the people rejoiced.

Isaiah 45:18 “For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.”

At least this verse is about the creation of the earth and heavens. But establishing the earth doesn’t declare that it’s flat or a globe.

Zechariah 1:11 “And they answered the angel of the LORD that stood among the myrtle trees, and said, We have walked to and fro through the earth, and, behold, all the earth sitteth still, and is at rest.”

This verses is proclaiming that there is general peace through the Persian empire, and other states connected with Judea.  It’s not about the design of the earth.

Hebrews 11:10 “For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.”

It’s talking about Jerusalem, not the earth.  And it’s not even talking about physical Jerusalem, but to heavenly Jerusalem as declared in Hebrews 12:22, “But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,”

It is also declared in Revelation 3:12, 21:2 and 21:10

2 Peter 3:5 “For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:”

This verse does not say that the earth is fixed and immovable. It’s simply pointing to land standing above the water.

The Greek word for earth is 1093 ge: contracted from a primary word; soil; by extension a region, or the solid part or the whole of the terrene globe.

Nasa in Hebrew does not mean to deceive, as flat earthers proclaim.

Strongs Hebrew word 5377 is nasha’ which means: to lead astray, i.e. (mentally) to delude, or (morally) to seduce:—beguile, deceive, X greatly, X utterly.

Strongs Hebrew word 5375 nasa’ which means: to lift, in a great variety of applications, literal and figurative, absol. and rel. (as follows):—accept, advance, arise, (able to, (armor), suffer to) bear(-er, up), bring (forth), burn, carry (away), cast, contain, desire, ease, exact, exalt (self), extol, fetch, forgive, furnish, further, give, go on, help, high, hold up, honorable (+ man), lade, lay, lift (self) up, lofty, marry, magnify, X needs, obtain, pardon, raise (up), receive, regard, respect, set (up), spare, stir up, + swear, take (away, up), X utterly, wear, yield.

Once again, flat earthers misrepresent what words mean.

Summary:

There are zero verses which proclaim that the earth is flat.  Nathan Roberts has clearly misrepresented the context of these verses, to try to make them fit his beliefs.

As you saw above, Ecclesiastes 1:6 proves that the earth is a globe, as the wind goes south and turns about unto the north, in a circuit (circle).  That is not possible on the flat earth model.

There are verses which point to a geocentric earth, which I believe is the hidden truth, as scientific probes prove that the earth is at the center of the universe.

I believe that the enemy has deceived people into believing that the earth is flat, so that the truth about the geocentric globe earth is hidden.  And sadly, because of people like Nathan Roberts, the enemy’s deception is working very well. 🙁

Read The Hidden Option Of The Geocentric Globe Earth.

There are zero verses which proclaim that the earth is moving in a circuit. The Bible describes the sun moving in a circuit and the heavens moving in a circuit, but not the earth.

But contrary to what flat-earthers proclaim, it does not describe a flat-earth with a glass dome over it. It describes the lower circular layers which hold back the fountains of the deep; the spherical layers of atmosphere around the globe earth; the constellations on the ecliptic which encircles the globe earth; and the celestial sphere of stars which surround the globe earth as a tent, as a tabernacle.

I hope that helps you see the proper context of Bible verses that flat earthers cite.  My motive is not to defend a belief, but simply to find truth.  And what I’ve found points to a globe earth that is geocentric.

And my eyes clearly see that the sun and moon behave in a way that can only be explained by a globe earth.  Read the home page for those proofs.

  1. You put a lot of long hours in on reading the scriptures. In the shape of a dome, like the true shape of the tabernacle, a tent rests upon a flat surface and not encompassing a sphere. Is it possible that this website was written in eisegesis?

    • It’s flat-earthers who list Bible verses with explanations which are written in eisegesis.

Your point is nonsensical. The tabernacle, a tent, is not dome-shaped. And a tent can fit on a globe-earth just fine.

The true tabernacle in which Elohim dwells, surrounds the globe earth. The circle of Isaiah 40:22 is the circle of the ecliptic on which the twelve constellation declare the Gospel. The thirty-six constellations fill the sky from the north celestial pole to the south celestial pole, surround the earth as a tent.

My flat earth deceptions book will be released soon, and we’ll see who is guilty of eisegesis.

  2. Here is one more reference I forgot to mention that you should consider when God calls for something to stand still. It is only to those objects or people that are moving. Makes you wonder why Joshua would command the sun and moon to stand still so he could fight in the valley of Gibeon against the five kings who rose against him. My guess is maybe you don’t believe the bible though.

    • I agree Loretta, that the sun being commanded to stand still, tells us that it’s normally moving; especially since the moon was also commanded to stand still.

And the sun was moved back to cause the sun’s shadow to return by ten degrees; as a sign for King Hezekiah. Both of those events show that the sun is normally moving.

In Psalms 19:1-6, it says that the sun is running a race, in a circuit. That “circuit” is the “circle” of Isaiah 40:22, the ecliptic circle which surrounds the globe earth.

Here’s a study that proves those verses out. https://flatearthdeception.com/biblical-proofs-of-the-globe-earth/

  3. Not sure if you have ever read the first chapter of Genesis but there are a couple of points you should consider. One is that water isn’t described as being created but separated. Light was spoken into existence while the sun moon and stars were created after the dry land of this place called earth appeared out of the water specifically for times and seasons so that we would have a reference of life moving through eternity. Just my two cents to make sure you understand that any biblical reference you make comes with the understanding that we are the center of the universe and not some spec of a dust ball floating aimlessly in God only knows which direction in the “vastness” of the universe looking for someone to give us understanding. Remember that God will sallow to be sent upon the earth a strong delusion so that those who will not have a love of the truth will believe a lie.
Two last thing for the science minded. Light does not follow a curved surface in a straight line no matter how slight or great the curve. Remember that when you see reflections that stretch to the horizon at sunrise or sunset. The other pertains to the area above the artic circle in the summer solstice when the sun never goes below the horizon for three to four days. Why doesn’t the sun zig-zag back and forth in the sky as we are the ones who are supposed to be rotating chasing a “star” that is traveling through the heavens of this universe?

  4. After Tycho’s death, Johannes Kepler used the observations of Tycho himself to demonstrate that the orbits of the planets are ellipses and not circles, creating the modified Copernican system that ultimately displaced both the Tychonic and Ptolemaic systems. However, the Tychonic system was very influential in the late 16th and 17th centuries. In 1616, during the Galileo affair, the papal Congregation of the Index banned all books advocating the Copernican system, including works by Copernicus, Galileo, Kepler and other authors until 1758. The Tychonic system was an acceptable alternative as it explained the observed phases of Venus with a static Earth. Jesuit astronomers in China used it, as did a number of European scholars. Jesuits (such as Clavius, Christoph Grienberger, Christoph Scheiner, Odo Van Maelcote) supported the Tychonic system. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tychonic_system

    • Thank you for sharing the information Jon! It’s interesting to see what perspective the Catholic Church has supported. It seems that the Jesuits have created a deception about the shape and orientation of the earth.
