SciManDan posted a video called “Flat Earth Prince Has a Message For us All!” where he exposes the false teachings of Eric Dubay.
He comments that “publishing a book doesn’t mean that you know anything about earth science. This guy did it, need I say more;” referring to Nathan RobertsThe Doctrine of the Shape of the Earth flat earth book.
Sadly for Nathan, he’s been duped into believing that the earth is flat, instead of understanding that the Bible describes a geocentric globe earth, and that’s the truth that NASA and others are hiding from people, in order to promote their evolution doctrine.
In his 240+ Bible verse list that supposed says flat earth, Nathan cites five different verses which are about John the Baptist “making straight the way for Messiah,” and he says that they are flat earth proofs because “all paths are straight.”
On 07/08/19, Nathan posted a video on his Flat Earth Doctrine YouTube page called ‘Globe vs. Flat Earth LIVE DEBATE HIGHLIGHTS’
It should be called ‘Globe vs. Flat Earth LIVE DEBATE LOWLIGHTS’ because as bad as Nathan’s explanations were in his attempt to prove that the earth is flat, his false gospel message was much worse. Nathan gave a false gospel of a Jesus who teaches that the earth is flat.
Nathan stated “If a Christian proclaims a globe earth, he too has contradicted his premise that the bible is the inspired word from God. He too will have to reexamine his entire belief system, unless he prefers to remain in his condition by calling God a liar. Thank you for the opportunity to present the truth of Jesus’s creation.”
Nathan thinks that sharing the Gospel was noble, but it was the very opposite. Maybe it scored brownie points with Christian flat-earthers, but reading the comments for the debate video, it’s clear that he just pushed atheists further away from the Bible and Messiah.
If I were an atheist, nothing that he said would attract me to Christianity. Actually it would make me run away, because Nathan makes it seem like being a Christian means that you have to proclaim the flat earth Gospel. And because any logical person can determine that the earth is not flat, Nathan causes them to reject the Bible and Messiah.
As a follower of the Messiah of Scripture, I’m offended by what he’s saying. This is why I oppose his teachings so vigilantly, because he is teaching a false gospel, and condemning believers who don’t believe that the earth is flat. He is extremely divisive.
He condemns MCToon, a Christian, for not sharing the Gospel; but that’s without merit. Nathan tarnished the Gospel, as atheists witnessed an illogical, fanatic who threw fellow flat-earthers and Christians under the bus. Nathan Roberts was a terrible witness for the kingdom.
Nathan seems to think he was a hero because he pointed to Jesus, but he was a total failure as atheists now have more reasons to reject the Bible and Messiah, because they know that the earth is not flat.
None of the verses that he cites prove that the earth is flat with a dome over it.
I watched the debate between Nathan Roberts and MCToon, and have to say that Nathan leaves me speechless. If he thinks that atheists are going to read the Bible and follow after Jesus, after his lame explanations, then he’s totally delusional!
Nothing he said would attract me to Christianity. Actually it would make me run away, because Nathan makes it seem like being a Christian means that you have to proclaim the flat earth Gospel.

Nathan in his intro proclaimed, “there are well over 200 Bible passages that confirm the Scriptural truth, and can be found when you open your Bible and research it.”
Then Nathan brought up gender confusion, which was really odd. He said that this debate is more spiritual than physical, and that an occultist created heliocentric earth theory. Then he called out Robbie Davidson, self-professed Christian, who promotes urine drinking, telepathic communication with animals/bigfoot. Why is Nathan bringing up problems with the beliefs of some flat-earthers?

Wow, way to set the stage to make Christians look crazy! He threw Christians who believe in a globe earth under the bus, and proclaimed that Jesus taught that the earth is flat. All of the atheists who are listening to this debate have now learned that if they become a Christian, then they have to believe that the earth is flat!
SciManDan rolled his eyes, and says “that’s fantastic, thank you.”
MCToon is a Christian, and no doubt he couldn’t believe that Nathan was proclaiming these things. It’s an embarrassment!
Nathan’s first point focused on statements that people in the southern hemisphere had seen the north star, which he says is impossible on a globe earth. He was citing Zetetic Astronomy: Earth Not a Globe by Samuel Birley Rowbotham
MCToon rebutted that with the need for evidence that people south of the equator can see the north star, as nobody can do that today. A quote from a book is not proof.
MCToon should have jumped all over Nathan’s explanation, showing how the constellations can be see because of the tilt of the earth, and the angle of the ecliptic circle.
MCToon’s first point was on rotation, that the Foucault pendulum doesn’t rotate at equator, and it rotates in opposite directions in hemispheres; which proves the globe earth.
Nathan had no real rebuttal
Nathan second point was about NASA documents which to a flat earth
MCToon rebutted by saying that NASA also talks about acceleration due to gravity. The document that Nathan cited gives the way to compensate for the rotation of the earth. They use the flat earth as the baseline, and then adjust for the curvature.
MCToon’s second point was about the sunrise and sunset for a flat and spherical earth.
The actual points the the sun rose and set were 28 degrees southeast and southwest; which is 81 degrees apart from where the flat earth sun would have to be.
MCToon said that on the equinox day, at the equator, the sun rises due east, sets due west, and traces a straight line through the sky. This demands that the equator is straight, east-west. That can’t happen on the FE map.
Nathan’s reply is nonsensical: “The intention of the AE map is not to prove the motion of the sun. In fact, what it is intended to do is give a pictorial understanding, given that there is no accounted curvature to the earth, of what it would look like if it was laid out flat. The operation of the sun is not dependent upon the earth being flat. So because the miles that you you’ve been given allegedly showing how the sun supposedly works over a flat earth are incorrect, does not invalidate the curvature of the earth, they’re completely independent of each other.
For one to say that they know definitively how the sun operates without ever being there, going to it, its just a theory. All we can do is observe from our vantage point and take notes. But does that mean that we know exactly how it works? No it does not. But what we can be certain of is the ground below our feet, and that water always seeks its level.”

He can’t comprehend that the sun on the flat earth map has to travel over the equator, and that since there’s sunshine for 14 hours in the based location, then that means that the sun would be far north on the flat earth, of where it rises in reality.
There was a question for Nathan from the comments: Why can’t we see the Southern Cross in the north?
Nathan cited convergence, perspective looking out into the horizon. “It goes into a line if it’s too far out. A convergence of the top and the bottom.”
That’s ridiculous! Earlier Nathan was saying that people in the Southern Hemisphere could see the north star, and it wasn’t a convergence issue then. But because people in the Northern Hemisphere can’t see the Southern Cross, it’s a perspective and convergence issue. Unbelievable!
MCToon replied with we can calculate perspective. Triangulation works. Based on the height of the Southern Cross, there is no way for it to be hidden from people in the Northern Hemisphere.
There was another question for Nathan from commentors: Can you explain the weird shape of Australia on the FE map.
Nathan said “No, I can’t.”
That’s because it’s a north-polar azimuthal equidistant projection of the globe earth, which stretches land masses which are far away from the center point. It’s not a flat-earth map!

I can honestly say, for the first time, that I’m excited to watch a video with Nathan Roberts talking, because he’s going to get crushed by MCToon, who can actually explain science.
It’s going to be fun to listen to this debate, because Nathan is one of the most illogical persons I’ve ever heard.
This debate won’t be about Bible verses, but the verses that Nathan cites only prove that he cares not about the proper context of verses.
Nathan Roberts posted a poll to see if people in his FlatEarthDoctrine Facebook group thought that he should take SciManDan up on his offer, to debate flat earth vs. globe earth.
Thankfully, the majority of people are saying yes, because I want to see this debate. Nathan Roberts, like Nathan Thompson, disregards the collective knowledge of the scientific community, and he makes up his own laws of physics.

The irony is that SciManDan has a firm grasp on scientific explanations, and it’s Nathan Roberts who SUCKS at SCIENCE! It’s hard to prove the accepted laws of physics wrong, when you only understand them at a surface level.
Kind of like Nathan Roberts’ understanding of Scripture, which is at a surface level, for he abuses the Scriptures to make them seem to point to a flat earth with a dome over it.
Nathan Roberts of FlatEarthDoctrine posted a video titled ‘SciManDan, why did your GLOBE lose in Court?’
Apparently Zen Garcia offered $15,000 to anyone who would offer two proofs that the earth is curved, and William Menke Thompson took him to court to collect, on Barrow County Georgia Case 2019-MV-1104. The judge ruled that the plaintiff did not present sufficient evidence that there is curvature.
William Menke Thompson’s inability to explain the globe earth does not mean that the earth is flat, as Nathan implies. It’s like the O.J. Simpson case, where he was not found guilty of murdering his wife, but that doesn’t mean that he’s innocent.
Look at the content of William Menke Thompson’s two proof videos and you can see why he lost the case:
Earth is not Flat – First Proof. It has 2 likes in two months, so nobody is paying attention to this guy.
Earth is not Flat — Second Proof. It has 0 likes in two months.
This is the level of explanation that got rejected by the judge. What a joke! And flat-earthers think that this is a victory! LOL!
The irony of Nathan Roberts’ taunting of SciManDan, is that SciManDan can actually explain science; whereas Nathan makes things up. I’m confident that if SciManDan was the plaintiff in this case, then the judge would have ruled the other way.
Nathan Roberts has a habit of arrogantly attacking people who oppose his belief in the flat earth. He’s done it with me, and now he’s doing it with SciManDan.

Nathan Roberts’ understanding of Scripture is appalling, as he cherry-picks verses and takes them out of context, to proclaim that the “Bible says flat earth!”
The verse that Nathan cites is 2 Samuel 11:11, “And Uriah said unto David, The ark, and Israel, and Judah, abide in tents; and my lord Joab, and the servants of my lord, are encamped in the open fields; shall I then go into mine house, to eat and to drink, and to lie with my wife? as thou livest, and as thy soul liveth, I will not do this thing.”
Is the context of the verse about defining the shape of the earth? No! It’s simply proclaiming that Uriah’s soldiers camped in tents in open fields.
David had slept with Bathsheba while Uriah and his soldiers went forth to battle. When David found out that she was pregnant, he tried to get her husband Uriah to go home to sleep with her, so that it would seem that he was the father. But Uriah refused to sleep in the comfort of his home and to sleep with his wife, with his soldiers camped in the open fields away from their homes and wives.
The context has absolutely nothing to do with the shape of the earth, and Nathan is taking 2 Samuel 11:11 out of its proper context; just to be able to say that “the Bible says flat earth.”
Nathan should be ashamed at how badly he abuses the Scriptures. Flat-earthers, how do you justify this verse being on the list?

The irony of him using the Gleason’s New Standard Map Of The World is that it’s a north polar azimuthal equidistant projection of the globe earth.
It’s filed under US Patent No. 497,917; which reads, “The extorsion of the map from that of a globe consists, mainly in the straightening out of the meridian lines allowing each to retain their original value from Greenwich, the equator to the two poles.”
From the patent description, we know that Gleason was in full knowledge that the map he created was simply a projection of the spherical earth.
So it’s not a flat earth map, it’s a 2D globe map.
SciManDan posted a video called ‘Zetetic Astronomy is not a Science – The Earth is Not Flat’.
The video description says: So Nathan Thompson of the Facebook Group “Official Flat Earth and Globe Earth discussion” thinks he is a scientist. I explain to him nicely that he is no such thing. I also completely dismantle his arguments in this video. I have since been booted twice from his group and now cannot even find the group on Facebook. Shame, I’m sure his devoted followers would have loved to seen him destroyed.
Nathan Thompson says that the flat earth is called the geocentric model, which is incorrect.
The flat earth is not geocentric, as the planets and universe are not revolving around it, but above it in a relatively small dome.
Nathan points out that people on the North Pole would have a different perspective from people on South Pole, but we all see the same side.
The irony is that on the flat earth, people would see different sides of the moon.
Nathan points out that a polished ball reflector has a spectral highlight, where an external light shines on one small part, and doesn’t illuminate the whole ball.
But nobody ever said that the moon is a polished, shiny ball. And we can clearly see by the shadows in the craters that it’s being illuminated externally.
Nathan Thompson then uses a white golf ball, which ironically shows the side that’s lit and the dark side; which proves that it’s being illuminated by an external light source. LOL!
The sun is a giant nuclear reactor, so it’s not just an ordinary light. The moon reflects about 12% of the sun’s light, which is pretty poor; but at night when it’s dark, the 12% is a perfect brightness.
Then Nathan points to places that are not exposed to moonlight being cooler than places that are in the moonlight.
This is due to radiative cooling. The area that’s not in the moonlight is being blocked somehow, from a roof awning, the side of a building, a tree, etc. Those structures act as a barrier which prevents heat from radiating out, so the temperature is warmer.
Then Nathan Thompson points to his shirt and says that the U.N. logo is a flat earth map.
The irony is that in the background on the wall in Nathan Thompson’s video is a Gleason’s New Standard Map Of The World, which is a north polar azimuthal equidistant projection of the globe earth. SciManDan posted a video called ‘Flat Earther Gets His Curvature Debunking Utterly Wrong!!’
Video description: Today we look a guy who thinks he has proven a flat Earth because he can see a 6000 plus foot island from another island. The mind boggles.
Flat earthers seem to have problems proving that the earth is flat during their experiments. Because they set out to prove that the earth is flat, they can’t see the evidence that’s right before them. In this video, how did the flat earther not account for the high elevation of the land mass which he’s viewing?
Nathan Roberts posted a video proclaiming that the earth is flat and the globe earth is dead, which showed that the bottom four floors of a building were missing from his photos. Hmmm, maybe because of the curvature of the earth?
He then made excuses for the missing floors, saying that it’s due to the ‘law of perspective’ and/or haze. That’s comical as the law of perspective never shows that things disappear under the horizon line, only that they grow smaller the further away they are. And though there was some haze, we could clearly see the top of the water and the building, so we could clearly see that four floors and the elevated roadway in the foreground were missing.

Flat-earthers take pictures from places like the Ross Ice Shelf, but the coasts of Antarctica don’t all have towering ice walls. Saying that it does is either ignorance or deception.
If flat-earthers want to keep their map, then the projected perimeter of the ice wall would be 65,000 based on the distortion of the north-polar azimuthal equidistant projection.
And there’s no way to possible protect that large of an area.
